Asta

I made a reservation to this place for my birthday. Earlier I have been to few similar places with the tasting menu such as Sarma, and have loved the experience. They were doing an Vegan month special tasting menu which excited me more. I had to pay much more than other such places too. They have 10 course meal with spread of appetiser, soup, entrées and desserts. I would say it all looked really nice. But I wasn’t too surprised with 4-5 of their courses. It tasted alright. Last three were my favourites but by then my stomach was full and I was already disappointed to have paid for such an expensive dinner. I think they should improve the first half of their menu to make it taste better and to provide an experience of an unexpected taste to customer. Not worth the money spent. I have been to similar concepts, paid half the price and eaten better food. Ambience seemed like zero effort.

I've lived in this neighborhood for a number of years. Today was my first time trying Asta and I can't believe it's taken this long for me to have this experience. I can't wait to come back. Even on a Valentine's day, a day notorious for half heated service and poor seating arrangements at most restaurants, my girlfriend and I had an amazing time enjoying the 6-course meal, wine pairing, and extras. I can't recommended this place enough. If you have the opportunity to sit up front at the bar tops near the kitchen, do it! The service and the food were equally incredible and we'll be back very soon.

I had an all around outstanding dinner at Asta. The food is creative and unique without feeling pretentious and everything in our tasting menu was delicious. We did the wine pairings and I was impressed with some unexpected combinations that I really enjoyed. The service was lovely and it felt special to watch the whole team at work in the open kitchen. I can’t wait to go back!

Asta was a fantastic experience. Our hostess was graceful yet fun and attentive. It was a pleasure to watch Chef Alex Crabb and his team in live action exciting every dish perfectly but unpretentiously. Although all courses were good, the ravioli, the bass, and the foie gras blew my mind. The cherry tart dessert with the dipping sauce was some other level!!! Wine paring was spot on. During the almost 2.5 hours we spent there, the passion of the chef and his entire team was very obvious. Strongly recommended.

It was so bad. We spent $600 on spoiled wine, wildly uneventful food, and such wasted servers they could hardly speak. Meant to call for a refund but got busy. Don’t even need the refund anymore. Just need people to know this place is a trash house. Well, it was the one night I went there. But truly if they can get that bad ANY night, are they ever that good? Not in my opinion when there are SO MANY other places to go. I honestly feel a little bad writing this, but this review would’ve saved me so much money and a precious night out with friends visiting from Portland OR for only one night. This was our night. Thankfully we always have fun no matter the circumstances!

I love this place. Me and my sis went for the vegan 9 course menu. Every dish was a new experience, and the wine pairings took it to another level. The people here are so nice! The service is 10/10. I cant wait to go back!!

The tasting menu was fantastic. All the dishes and wine pairings were great. Our server was very attentive. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are really good!

Pretty awesome dining experience, but like a lot of others have said we were served a lot of root vegetables, which bothers me from a value perspective. We got the 5 dish tasting and dishes were delicious and wine pairings were great! We got the foie Gras add on and split one order for two, which was plenty. Food was plentiful too! I would consider visiting again to try a different menu, the server mentioned the menu rotates about every 6 weeks so maybe in the spring we'll try again.

Surprised and sad to see the less than stellar reviews here, chef Xandy is a gifted culinary genius and if you ever have the honor of tasting the art he creates, lucky you.

We got the 8 course + wine pairing and the food was incredible. Expertly prepared lamb, wonderful cherry souffle for dessert, and intriguing smoked beer and smoked tea beverages in addition to the wine to complement the dishes. The service was very good and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting.
