This was a thought-provoking and intensely engaging experience. The exhibits change out from time to time, so you get a different experience every few months. About 2 hours to view everything. Low traffic, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Highly recommend. Not geared towards kids.

So much fun! I was not expecting to like it because I had to go in order to complete an assignment for class but I ended up loving it. I will definitely be back in the future!

It is always nice and enjoyable to spend the day or part of it visiting an art museum such as the ASU Art Museum of Arizona State University which is part of the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. The Museum's Spotlight series brings attention to innovative projects in the arts and design among which are the project WALK which uses the experience of walking to address larger, creative, historical, social and political concerns, the project Map(ing) which investigates personal and cultural histories, the collection of Violence of Truth which explores the myth of social change and much more. The museum has a seasonal series called Family Days, and First Saturdays for families is called Creative Saturdays for kids ages 4-12 which are led by local artists. A new project with blue LED lights has to do with Ethnography which is a branch of anthropology dealing with scientific description of individual cultures. Great projects and collections.

Free access (a donation requested), and you can wander and enjoy all the modern/contemporary art. My absolute favorite time of year to come is the summer. Your car is going to fry in the sun in that little parking lot, but you instantly feel cooler as you walk down these stairs underground to the entrance. You're surrounded by stone. and then stone and windows and friendly people mark the entrance.
