Story

Welcome to Auberge NOLA. I can't wait to share my pride and joy with you! I started this hostel with the dream of meeting other travelers and providing them with some of the amenities I thought were missing in New Orleans' hostels at the time. I searched and searched and settled on this home based on its distance to public transportation, its layout, the services offered within such a close proximity, and its location, situated centrally between the French Quarter-Downtown and Garden District-Uptown. Let me make your stay in NOLA great!

The house is located one block from the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar stop on Euterpe Street and St. Charles Avenue, at the edge of the Lower Garden District. It is in an amazing location. Within a 5 block radius you have access to over 31 restaurants and bars several of which are 24 hours. The St. Charles Avenue Streetcar line runs 24 hours and brings you directly to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street (a 10 minute ride) as well as the CBD's nightclubs, St. Charles Avenue also hosts the majority of Mardi Gras parades during our festival season. You can hear the parades from the hostel.

Take the street cars to Canal Street and you can connect to New Orleans' famous cemeteries, the Riverwalk Outlet Center, and the Marigny with its famous Frenchmen Street. Or you can ride in the other direction to visit the Garden District, University Districts, Audubon Park, Black Pearl area, or Tulane and Loyola Universities.

If you prefer to walk, you can! New Orleans is the "smallest big city" you will find. Many hostel guests choose to walk almost everywhere they go. The Auberge is only a 20 min walk to Canal Street. It a few blocks from beautiful Coliseum Square Park. From there you can stroll down world famous Magazine street and venture into the amazing Garden District with its homes and fabulous architecture. A short walk in the other direction takes you to Lee Circle and many great new museums, such as the World War 2 museum, in a recently revitalized district. Are you here for a game? The Auberge is only a 15-20 minute walk to the Superdome / Smoothie King Center or take the Streetcar to Poydras street and walk from there. hostel hostelling backpacking backpacker travel guesthouse

I stayed at Auberge NOLA in July and had a standout hostel experience. I stayed in the private room. It is more of a suite, nicer than most traditional hotel rooms, and well worth the price. This is a fantastic hostel to stay if you are interested in making some fast friends. There are a number of indoor and outdoor common spaces for gathering and meeting new people. The owners are fabulous and are very involved with the hostel happenings and regularly plan events and outings. The staff make themselves readily available if you have any issues and are delightful people. There is also a What'sApp group chat for keeping in touch with everyone. 10/10 would stay here again.
This place was a gem find. I was a little anxious before arriving, travelling alone and having never tried a U.S. hostel before, but quickly felt right at home. Madison, our host over the weekend, hosted great drinking games and showed us some great bars and clubs. Very clean for a hostel, kitchen and bathrooms were well-maintained. Would stay again!
I’ve stayed in some great hostels in my life all over the world & I’d say this was easily the greatest of them all. The rooms were comfortable, the showers were great , extremely spacious & accommodating place. What I enjoyed most of all , was the community aspect of this hostel. The host, the workers & all my hostel mates made this trip to NOLA one of the greatest of my life. Every night we meet in the back for drinks & then go out for an activity. The hostel finds activities to meet everyone’s interests. I give it 10 stars on a scale of 5. I think I may make this a yearly destination for me!
This Hostel is an absolute 11/10 . The hostel itself is super clean, well maintained and well located. I stayed in a private room and it was perfect. Really well put together and had every amenity needed for a stay. The thing that really makes this place stand out is the staff and the social aspect they encourage. Every person who worked at the hostel were incredibly kind, friendly and fun to hang out with. The social aspect of this hostel really shaped my stay in NOLA. There is a hostel WhatsApp which makes it easy to arrange activities with guests, though each night there is always an activity organised by the team. I've been in the USA for 31 days and the 4 days at the Auberge were definitely the highlight. Thank you! Shane
You will not find a better hostel around New Orleans. I didn't want to leave because it felt so cozy and there are plenty of quiet spaces that you can get out of your room and not be with the party crowd. Robert the owner is a really cool guy and I don't know if I'm allowed to say this but you can on any night find that there's always nice music and "spirits"waiting.... if you are young and don't know what Spirits means please Google it
Auberge is in the perfect location! Plenty nearby with the trolley just a block away if you want to head further away. Lovely hostel itself with NOLA charm. Safe, clean and inviting : I stayed in a co-Ed share room and it was just fine! Everyone was beyond friendly!
Excellent Stay. Good location close to the street cars on St. Charles & roughly 30-45 min. stroll to the French Qtr. by foot I have long legs & walk quickly so.... There was ample street parking for my vehicle and check in was simple = efficient. The staff was pleasant, informative about the area and held nightly get togethers that led to social outings. The dorm, bathrooms, kitchen and common areas were well apportioned and very clean. They even had an entertainment room w/film projector, guitars, etc. =SOLID. I look forward to swinging back through this location in the future.
Great experience, beautiful Hostel, and super clean. The Host is so kind and helpful with Traveler. Perfect for someone who travel by yourself. You meet a lot of people here and the staff organize everynight a great activity. Its a perfect place for to stay in new orleans . I recommand it for sure
Nice hostel, but got cheated. Paid 20 USD extra for a bed in room for 4 people, but was put in a room for 8 people. I was not allowed to go to 4 people bedroom, as it was full. When asking for a refund for the extra I had paid, I got an angry answer from a hysterical manager. Hostel is otherwise nice, but very expensive.
Clean. Comfortable. Easy to check in and out. All around perfect experience. Will be returning. We loved this place and the employees we met.Rooms: 5/5
