Dr Audrey Halpern is an Angel. I say it over and over again. She has saved my life. From getting severe migraine attacks 4-5 times a week to going almost migraine free within 3 months. I had seen two other doctors before finding Dr. Halpern and though they were caring, the amount of attention and care I have received from Dr Halpern and her staff is not even comparable to other places. Dr. Halpern does not torture you by prescribing you 10 different medications which sometimes makes matters worse. She listens carefully to all of your concerns and addresses them all. She makes sure to do all the necessary tests to cover all aspects of your wellbeing. I felt so at ease and cared for the moment I was at her office. It's truly rare to find gems like Dr. Halpern these days. I am very grateful. Also love the front desk and everyone who works there.
Dr Halpern is a wonderful doctor and neurologist- she listens , she cares, she takes the time she needs and she tries above and beyond to make the patient feel better. She is very knowledgeable about headaches and migraines and the options for treatment and she is open to anything that could possibly help the patient. The staff in the office is helpful and considerate. If unfortunately you suffer from headaches and migraines, this is the doctor to go to In the city, without any doubts.
The office itself is nice. However, the interactions with the staff and Neurologist wasn’t as simple. The visit with NP Alice was quiet. Her bedside manner could definitely be improved. If someone is going in with what seems like a very “scary” life altering thing, there should be a level of compassion present. I couldn’t ask questions without there being a short response, let alone voice a concern. Honestly, I left more confused and had a second visit with my PCP because of the confusion. I asked for a different doctor at my follow-up and they stated they tend to keep the same patients with the same doctors. So I scheduled it somewhere else. I scheduled the appointment originally for one doctor and was seen by another. They did not hesitate to send me a google review form a couple of times after the visit though, which I always find odd.
Really enjoyed my experience. Very friendly receptionists. Short wait time and I had the option to fill out my forms in advance. I saw PA Jordan who was fantastic. She took the time to listen to my issues and I felt heard and understood. She performed a thorough physical exam. Looking forward to being her patient.
Had a great first experience at this practice. As someone who suffers from hemiplegic migraines it was comforting to walk into an office that knew what I was dealing with and understood the complexity of how the migraine presents. The staff was knowledgeable and I had a full hour long consult with the doctor, a much different experience than the typical rushed half hour my neurologist gave me. Would definitely recommend if insurance covers it.
In my opinion, this office is a gem in Manhattan. The place is clean and the staff are friendly and courteous. I saw Dr. Dokko twice and she was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the field. She was kindly able to answer many of the questions I had about a terrible reaction I had to some other treatment. She was not dismissive like many doctors are, and exercised great patience to analyze the cause of my problem. Fortunately for me, after nine months, my symptoms went away and I no longer require help. But if I had to see her and visit this office again for some other problems hopefully I won't, this is exactly where I will go. Dr. Dokko is actually one of the best doctors I have seen. On a side note, it's been a new and unfortunate experience of mine to learn that neurological problems are very traumatic and may cause a tremendous amount of anxiety especially if you don't know what will happen to your body next. If this sounds like you, please do not waste anymore of your time to visit this office.
Found Dr. Halpern on Google! After reading the positive comments I decided to give her a try. Thankfully, my visit went very well and the front desk staff were very nice. I needed to find a neurologist that could help me with my painful migraines that have been nonstop. My migraines have not stopped as of yet but the meds given are still a work in progress. I plan on continuing to see Dr. Halpern until I get a complete turnaround and I look forward to seeing Dr. Halpern again.
The worst practice I have been to. Completely outdated technology and inefficient process. And they don’t have patient’s interest at heart at all. All they care about is how to squeeze more money from you. All their exams are gonna take at least 2 weeks to have results, and you have to book appointment again to discuss it yes they want the appointment fee. At any other practices, I can easily communicate the results with the doctor over online portal or phone call. And when I request a record transfer, there’s another 2 weeks wait. You can easily spend 2 months here without getting any diagnosis. Besides, I don’t know if they can actually diagnose or treat anything beyond migraine. My provider seems to want to force headache on me when it’s not my symptoms. Overall, don’t come here if you don’t want to delay your diagnosis. They can easily cost you months. Update: they are really just cheap, trying to squeeze out every single penny from their patient. They even charge you for releasing your exam records $1 per page. This is just pathetic. I want to laugh.
I have been seeing Dr. Halpern for a little more than 10 years at this point, I have watched her practice flourish because she does great work! It is definitely worth the wait to see *her. Dr Halpern is great working with you to reduce your headaches/migraines. Not to mention she is honest with you about the potential causes/contributions to the pain, even if it something others may be afraid to say. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Halpern is fantastic—she really turned things around for me with my chronic migraines when I started seeing her a few years ago. She keeps up with latest treatments and is proactive about helping her patients find something or in my case, some combination of things that will work. Candace W.
