Austin City Limits Music Festival

As a guy who frequents music festivals all of the US, I can say this venue and line up exceeded all expectations! The line up did not disappoint, but then again their line up has not disappointed very often over the past several years. The only reason why I docked a star is because of the INSANE security and the lack of planning for the increase in security. We brought extremely simple, 2 channel 2-way radios to stay in touch inside the festival. The walkie-talkies were confiscated at the gate with no reason other than “they’re not allowed”. It really soured the afternoon but we all got over it. All in all a great place!

Incredibly well run event. I was very impressed by the layout and efficiency. Everything was clear, staff was helpful and lines moved quickly. Food selection was larger and better than I anticipated. Music was fantastic, liked the variance of stages and they were amply spread apart.

Great experience! Very organized when it comes to parking, share ride pick up/drop off, taxi line, etc. However, I'm not a fan of getting groped before getting in. My 2nd day here, after getting patted down, as I was walking toward the festival, some random staffer stopped me and patted me down again. NOBODY ELSE WAS PATTED DOWN twice that I could see. Definitely none in my group. Cell phones barely work in here due to too many people getting on the networks. Maybe it's time to offer WiFi? Also not a fan to have the biggest acts closing the night out at the same time so you have to choose to see one or the other, but not both.

My wife and I went to see Eminem and Kendrick Lamar perform, and it was amazing! We took the shuttle from downtown Austin. The line for the shuttles were not long, and it moved quickly. The line after the show for the shuttles was very long. The wait was worth it after watching Eminem put on a great show. If this is your first time at ACL, definitely take sunglasses and a clear container for water.
