The Pecan Street Festival

It was...fine. Mostly hobby artists selling crafts, repurposed-part sculptures, jewelry, and paintings/artwork. There were quite a few name-brand stalls promoting themselves (Wonderbread? Why?). The music was quite good. I'd say, go if you're bored and need something to do that weekend, but don't go out of your way to attend.

Enjoyable street festival but offerings were Not particularly exciting or interesting. Nice event if you would like to get downtown and walk a bit.

It's always fun to see what local artist from around Austin have to offer from Canvas paintings to personalized items and also love tasting the food vendors tasty treats and of course some good drink refreshments like homemade root beer and lemonade stands overall just good ole family fun.

Out time at the festival was short. We were between functions at a friend's daughter's wedding and had some time to kill. For those of you who don't know about this festival, you will find no Pecans there. The festival is held on 6th Street, which was originally named - Pecan Street. 6th Street is lined with restaurants and bars. The bar specials reminded me of Bourbon Street - not in terms of decadence, but in the amount of cheap pricing of alcohol. People were standing outside of bars hawking their specials. Many sounded great, but it was too hot and we had things to do and places to go. The streets are filled with vendors of all sorts. Booths go up and down the street and off to side streets. Art, jewelry, food, drinks, and much more. On the side streets, you can find bands playing. There was also a Metal Festival in town that weekend and some of the bands played the Pecan Street Festival too. But the weather was hot and the sun blazing. We went down the street not quite to the end and could do no more. But, it was fun while we were there.

It was fun. Kids had a good time . Things can be pretty pricey so bring your wallet . But decent amount of free things so over all good experience
