Car was beautiful! We drove from Vegas to Texas. Easy pick up at circus circus hotel and easy drop off here in arlington. Unlimited miles and better prices then enterprise for sure. First time renting from them. Definitely would rent from Avis again. Now I am just waiting on my deposit back but it takes about 5-7 business days
Complete scam company. I've had this and one other experience with Avis and both have led to me being charged more than originally agreed to in a VERY shady way. Went on a trip to Vegas with some friends and wanted to rent a car to drive down to the Grand Canyon. We paid online and had a reservation for two cars, but when we showed up, we were told that our reserved cars weren't there and that WE would have to pay to upgrade. After arguing about that for about 10 minutes, we were told that we could get a free upgrade if we paid for their LDW insurance. We argued again for about 10 minutes because we had rental insurance through our credit cards, which explicitly stated that if we accept LDW insurance, it negates the better credit card insurance. The sales rep was very condescending and absolutely unreasonable, and said that he would not give us the keys unless we upgraded the car or got the LDW insurance. Even after we explained that the LDW insurance *was worse and would negate our insurance*, and that *on the counter* it was posted that the LDW was NOT MANDATORY, he said that "he wouldn't give us the keys if we didn't get it". After over 30 minutes of arguing, we ended up taking the LDW because these scammers wouldn't let us have the cars without it. I have NEVER seen such an unethical company. If they don't have the cars that were reserved, it should be on THEM to give us an upgrade, we shouldn't be expected to pay for it. Also they forced us to take their garbage insurance that was apparently not mandatory, and also cancelled the better insurance we already had. But that obviously doesn't matter, because the whole goal was to force us to pay extra anyways. It was interesting how they couldn't make an exception for us paying to upgrade, until they suggested us paying for the LDW, almost as if it didn't matter what we paid for as long as we paid them extra for something. Stay away from this company, they are thieves who are nice when you're making your reservation, but will do anything to take an extra dollar once they have your payment information.
The worst service I ever had with a rental car office and an employee. I never had problems with AVIS before so i would not say i blame the whole company. But the Office at Circus Circus was super unprofessional. First we tried to pick up our prereserved car on time just to stand in front of an empty AVIS Desk. Other employees from the hotel said that the employee will show up anytime but they cannot tell when. After "1 hour" of waiting, one AVIS employee showed up just to tell me and another british guy who also had a reservation, that there are no cars available. She refused to help us out with an alternative or infos where to go now and how to solve the problem. She only handed us over a phone number of the socalled "AVIS Main Support and reservation hotline", which turned out to be a unavailable number of a random AVIS Office which doesn't even exist anymore. Furthermore the employee refused to call any other support for us. We had to take an expensive uber ride to another AVIS Office at Sahara Avenue where they at least were super friendly and at the same time surprised and ashamed of the lack of support we got at the Circus Circus AVIS Office. They could help us out immediately. They really saved our day after all the troubles. Stay away from the Circus Circus AVIS office, take the one in Sahara avenue instead!!!
Word of warning: do not go here if you think you will need to be in and out quickly. I arrived at 9am for a reserved pickup: The chaps before me, first in line, had been there since 7:45am and didn't leave with keys until 9:45am - the counter assistant's pace was glacial. I was lucky to complete paperwork in 15 mins as a new assistant had come on duty, but then had to wait half an hour outside for the other assistant to bring down the car. The car itself was fine and as reserved - except the gas tank was nearly empty, the "REFILL" warning coming on within five miles. Returning car was fine, no issues once I found the "AVIS" pointer in Garage 1. Not very impressed, overall.
Unfortunately, I had to pick a star here. We picked up our car and had an hour wait, as desk staff said would be back at 9 30m after we arrived and then didn’t show until 930. Another person in line had to go track them down. No hello, no apology, poor service. Sent us out on our own to do a wild goose chase to find our car. Car smelled like smoke. Overall, horrible experience.
Don't expect anything from this lot. Although I had a reservation and a quick pass an insecure manager would not give me a car for some reason. Disappointing.
I wish I had read the reviews before I booked a car here and with Avis to be honest WORST COMPANY I have dealt with RUDE REPRESENTATIVES DONT ANSWER THE PHONE PUT YOU ON HOLD .. SO YOU FIGURE YOU SHOULD MAKE A RESERVATION ONLINE WHEN YOU GET THERE TELL YOU THEY DONT HAVE A RESERVATION FOR YOU THEN YOU CALL THE CORPORATE OFFICE THEY TELL YOU THEY SEE YOUR RESERVATION AND ALL IS WELL WHEN YOU EXPLAIN THE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HEADACHE THEY GIVE YOU ATTITUDE AND HANG UP …. Never Again!!!!!!
I am not one to write negative reviews but this place blew my mind. I Had a reservation for a standard SUV to be picked up at 8am next day 11/08/21. When I arrived at 8.45am the representative at the counter told me they had given the car to someone else because I was late, and that they had no cars available at that location- I had already paid for the vehicle. She was very unhelpful and bothered, almost as it is routine to deceive renters. I then had to take a cab to a different location to Four Queens and pay $20 cab ride to get a convertible which was extremely difficult for my mother to get in an out of. They also charged me $60 extra for a car I did not request as if it was my fault for their lack of professionalism. I had also requested to return the car to Luxor later that night, upon arrival at Luxor I was told they no longer had an Avis at that location but Excalibur did. Drove to Excalibur and no one seemed to know where the drop off location was. I called customer service and they were also clueless as to where I needed to go. It took me 45 minutes to find the drop off location and someone to assist me at that hotel. There were no signs indicating where to drop off vehicles at Excalibur. This was a horrible experience that took me 3hrs off my day all together. The car I was given was also not cleaned. 11/8/21
Wow!! I should've read the reviews. Reserved everything online prior to flying out to Las Vegas to get married. We double checked, made phone calls and wanted to be sure there wouldn't be any problems before we headed out. We had planned on driving back to our home state and making it a scenic tour. Upon getting to the front counter, I'm told they need to see a round trip flight itinerary this request was NOT found anywhere online or during any phone calls prior to leaving, I explain that I flew out here and was not flying back. She repeats the request as if I didn't understand her the first time, I say I'm not flying back, that I'm not from here. I tell her we flew to Las Vegas and had planned on driving back. So she calls someone to tell them the situation. I'll spare the details of THAT conversation, but in the end I'm told "we can not rent to you at this time, have a good day". Please read these reviews, you just may save yourself some time.
Worst Experience possible, total online rate for the reservation was $80 somehow it became $115 since they had the didn’t have the car we reserved. After the confirming the reservation car was supposedly clean, it was NOT. Completely dirty on the exterior, chipped windshield and damage over car that wasn’t even reported on the damage sheet. Ended up going back and voiding rental.
