Gina seemed to be running the place every time I stopped in and she was the absolute greatest. Getting in and out of a rental isn’t the most exciting errand in the world, but my visits to the location were quick and easy because of her. Loved her vibe.
This Avis location at 1010 Webster St. Houston is awesome. They were very efficient with helping customers including me at pick up. They suggested an electric car to see how I like it. I have never driven one. I was hesitant at first, but she I forgot her name said that if I didn’t like it, I could come switch it out. Well I took this beautiful electric mustang mini suv and had a blast. It was so fun to drive. I’m glad she suggested it. Drop off was super easy and quick. No surprise fees reserved through Costco. I will definitely use this location again when I return to Houston.
I prepaid a car for March 1st 2024. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was told that there was no car available. The agent hadn't had time to call me yet. She couldn't cancel my order, or transfer me to another agency. I had to contact customer service, explain the situation to get a refund and make a new, more expensive reservation at another agency. It costed me +100$ No commercial gesture. No consideration for the customer. Time and money wasted.
Avis has a gem in Gina at their Webster Street office in Houston. She is knowledgeable, professional and takes pride is having satisfied customers. I've rented cars several times over the years and never had an unpleasant experience thanks to Gina. If there is a problem, she fixes it!

Avis was terrible. I got an Uber vehicle. Took me 6 tries. Despite contacting corporate over them never having one, making reservations through customer service and confirming my vehicle repeatedly they never had one. It cost me time and money to goto their branch. Everyone was rude each time. They gave me a dirty car with engine issues. It had trash in it. They wouldn’t give me another vehicle despite me requesting one repeatedly over it having engine trouble. They wouldn’t charge me on days specified but would hit me with toll charges making it hard to budget and even pay when they randomly decided to try. So I’d have to call them to charge me. Which they often wouldn’t- keeping me offline unable to make money. And then finally charge me- and kept me offline unable to make money. Avis wouldn’t reimburse me for lost wages over their failures. I also moved and asked beforehand to change drop off location, customer service assured me I could drop it off anywhere. 300 miles later no branch would take it and they were very rude. Customer service kept insisting they would, they wouldn’t. I literally had to get a branch on the phone with them to tell them no. Customer service basically told me too bad so sad return the vehicle with a 600 mile round trip when I am starting work. They would “reimburse me” for travel. Which I doubted because they wouldn’t refund my lost wages and customer service was completely incompetent and wouldn’t honor former conversations and promises. I just moved and couldn’t make the trip even if I had time because I just spent a fortune. If the car was reported stolen it would be on me. I had to document, document, document, that they REFUSED to take back their car. “You signed a rental agreement” yeah, which you invalidated. Finally had to have roadside assistance take the vehicle despite being told it wouldn’t work and document proof it’s now in their possession. Awful nightmare company, never again! Run from this company!
By going in a week ahead of my scheduled 7 seater pick up and request a different vehicle than what was originally booked online, I was able to get a good vehicle that was not only clean and comfortable but also gave good mileage. Thanks Gina Talbert for making this happen. A very courteous and customer friendly employee.
I hope you don't have the unfortunate experience of dealing with Gina. There is absolutely no professionalism undertaken at this location. Use these guys at your own risk, and do not expect any level of customer service or to feel welcomed.

I am very thankful for Gina Talbert from AVIS branch at Houston Downtown. I have found her as an amazing person when it comes to a customer service. She cares about the customers with the great passion. Thank you very much for being patient and helpful.
