Kungpao chicken is super authentic. The chef used the Chinese vinegar in the right timing and with the right proportion. The dish is super fragrant with the right flavor. Highly recommended. I also like the pork rib soup with winter melon. It was cooked with ginger and I love it. Will come back with friends and family.
Went here with a friend of mine to have him try out their food. We got our table at 7:45pm. Since the time we sat down, another family of 6 came in to order. A couple came in as well. We were served just a hot sour soup which honestly was delicious. 1 hour later, there was still no food and the family of 6 was half way done eating a huge meal. I asked why we are not being served yet, seeing we were there much earlier. I was told from the lady they were friends so they were served first and prioritized. I was then told another 5 minutes. I paid for my soup before I left even though I was told it was free. I explained kindly , I am paying because I ate it and I EVEN tip the young cashier. The family seemed kind, good food it looks like, but they treat average normal customers poorly. I haven't had this situation of this sort in over 20 years. Customer service is very poor . Definitely not a first come or first serve establishment. Very very disappointing.
9/10/22: Tried the dinner portion of spicy chicken today. It lived up to its name with fresh sliced jalapeños! There was a lot of chicken non-breaded kind which I prefer. There was also course sliced onions and fine sliced carrots. I especially liked the sliced slivers of fresh garlic. Served in a spicy special sauce. I recommend if you like jalapeño spicy food! 8/27/22: stopped in just after 3pm and ordered dinner portion of garlic chicken to go. Plenty of chicken, carrots, green pepper, and onions. Very tasty spicy garlic sauce. Waited less than 15 min. I recommend the garlic chicken. See pic. I'll be back as I'm working through the menu items I want to try! 8/13/22: Kung Pao Triple Delight is excellent and my new favorite! I recommend Kung Pao anything! 8/6/22: ordered dinner portion of General Tso's chicken to go. The portion is huge. What I find interesting about this dish is every restaurant makes it different. This one had no carrots, green peppers, broccoli or whole hot peppers in it. It has a good flavor. The other thing is the breaded fried chicken chunks can be tough to chew; this I know better. I would have preferred the steamed/boiled/seared chicken that is used in Kung Pao chicken, however that unbreaded chicken is prepared. The spring roll is good. I'll try other dishes from Xin Wei that do not use the breaded fried chicken chunks. The picture is of half the actual order. I'm stuffed! I'll be back!
Pretty good authentic Chinese restaurant in the area. Clean, friendly service and tasty food. Definitely will be back for more.
Got the sautéed pork ribs with garlic and the the Beef Tenderloin with fresh pepper. Both amazing. The ribs are garlicly and deep fried; crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Their Szechuan style pork in casserole is amazing as well; its double cooked pork. Spicy fatty and juicy pork belly strips with bamboo.Food: 5/5
I’m an ‘out of towner’ and Xin Wei’s food is so good that it’s now part of my plans every time I visit Columbus. I lived in China for 18 years and I think every dish I’ve tried is as authentic as possible. Parking: Huge parking lot
I ordered General Tso lunch, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, and hot and sour soup. Everything tasted really good and I plan on trying more things off of their menu. General Tso was 4/5. It was just slightly sweeter than I typically like it. Good portion for lunch. Wish there was vegetables with it. Would order again. Steamed dumplings were 4/5. I think it could have used some scallions in them, but still tasted really good. Nice quantity, size, and texture. Would order again. Crab Rangoon was 4/5. Definitely a good flavor. It was not just cream cheese. I would have liked it with a bit more filling, but I would order again. Hot and sour soup was 5/5. Had a good combo of sour and spicy. Great for the cost. Would definitely order again.
Very good authentic Chinese food, but keep in mind the English and Chinese menus have totally different options DoorDash only has the English menu. I'm not sure how to get the Chinese options if you don't speak Chinese but it's worth asking.
Excellent authentic szechuan. We tend to eat a lot of new stuff, so finding Fatty Intestine in Garlic sauce was a new one. It was delicious. The sauce was very garlicky and spicy, and was something I could eat again. We also had the cumin pork ribs, which were very good. Not overly oily, and the cumin was balanced just right. A heaping amount of fried shallots really made this. We also tried the tofu and century egg dish. That was most unexpected with expectations. I expected something like I had before, but the egg had just the right balance of preserved flavor with the yolk. The tofu and sauce was a good pairing, and went very well with the spice in the other dish to cool it down a bit. The service was very nice, and even though it was extremely busy I felt that we didn't have to wait any longer than I normally would anywhere else.
One of the best authentic Szechuan style Chinese restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing. You are missing out if you haven't try a dish from here. When it comes to authentic Chinese food, this restaurant is % perfect. 10 out of 10 on quality and taste.Food: 5/5
