My fiance and I met with Jennifer from Bake my Day yesterday. After that meeting we are 100% certain we do not want to use her service. She cancelled our appointment last week and this week, tried to cancel about 20 minutes before the appointment we were already en route When we arrived there, she was very rude. We could tell she did not want to be there, and was irritated that Mary was telling her that she needed to be, or that we just did not want to move our appointment again. She also did not want to provide us with the quote, because the venue would be paying for the cake; not understanding, that any overage in the cost, would result in us paying the difference. Which necessitates my need for seeing that quote. The cake was delicious and had we been treated better, there might have been a sale. But in the service industry, you can not trample your customers events because of your bad mood. We will be meeting with other bakeries this week and next week to decide the vendor we would like to use to provide the cake. But after the show we got yesterday from Bake my Day, it will not be that one. I now understand why she has such GLOWERING reviews on Social Media, Wedding Wire and Google Forums.
I got married last weekend and we were not even going to do a cake. We saw Bake My Day at a wedding show and fell in love Set up a tasting and loved everything about it. Picked a design that we absolutely loved. Then it came to the actual wedding day and the cake we received was not what we ordered. Don't get my wrong...the cake tasted delicious, but the design wasn't even close. The shape of each layer was wrong, the design was wrong, etc. They got the color right except for the flower and the flavors right, but that was about it. What we got and what we thought we were getting wasn't even close. I was hugely disappointed in this cake. Had we been shown what we actually received we would have never paid for a cake.
All around great experience. Did a themed special design birthday cake for my wife's birthday. I offered ideas of what I wanted and they did a great job of building a one of a kind cake for my wife. The cake was a huge hit and tasted amazing. Highly would recommend and will always consider their services for future special events.
Highly disappointed! My son and his bride contracted with this company for their wedding cake. The cake all but collapsed after set up and to make matters worse, it was not prepared and presented correctly. The venue called them to come fix it. My son called them to come fix it. I called them to come fix it. They ignored our calls. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY DO NOT ISE THEM FOR ANYTHING!!! I will be seeking legal venues to get their money refunded. If I could leave less than 1 Star I would.
I wish I could give this less than one star. We were uncle to find the bakery and called, no answer. Message was left. There are two streets with the same name in Louisville and my GPS took me to the wrong one. Wanted to reschedule this event cupcake decorating class with my daughter and Jennifer could not of been more rude or unprofessional. There are many reviews about her rude attitude and I agree. I would not recommend this businesss for any reason. Absolutely not recommended!! Horrible!!
Absolutely disappointed! Scheduled a tasting with the owner outside of her normal bakery hours, because appointments are taken; that I was appereciative of. What made this experience awful was that I spent almost an hour trying to find the bakery, driving up and down Bardstown Road. My fiance and I both called multiple times and messaged them trying to figure out where it was located and we were unable to get ahold of anyone to help us. I even walked in other companies asking if they knew where the bakery was. There is 1 address on Google and another on Facebook neither take you to the bakery. We were looking forward to being able to have our first cake tasting from a bakery whos cakes were highly recommended to us and possibly have a part of our wedding planning checked off. Now we have to research other bakeries and start back at square one. Not at all happy with the way our this company "provides their services." I hope by posting this, noone else goes thru the same experience we did!
DO NOT TRUST! My wife and I gave them a refundable deposit. This is someone my wife knew from work, and they still ripped us off. 10 months later and the deposit is just gone, they BLOCKED phone calls and BLOCKED Facebook. They didn't even give us the courtesy of making up an excuse. We wanted our deposit back because the cake samples were AWFUL. Will try the BBB next but given the lack of respect so far I fully expect to end up in small claims court.
Absolutely love this bakery. The only reason I'm withholding that 5th star for PERFECTION is because every single cake that my daughter and I have done is the same "funfetti" flavor. Boo! If she ever promotes a chocolate, or flavored cake I will be the first to sign up for that class. Do NOT mistake me, that funfetti is deliciously moist and the buttercream icing is always on point. Not too sweet, never grainy and always fluffy and soft. My now 8 yr-old loves the artistic freedom of creating her yummy and fun cake designs!
Messaged and received a prompt and thoughtful response from someone - called yesterday in follow-up of that inbox and spoke to Mary. Her flat, curt and dismissive tone and responses meant that I went from looking at how to patronize this business, to leaving a negative review. I stated in my inbox that I wanted to open a dialogue about the party I am planning, made it clear I haven't made any final plans and wanted to discuss my ideas with someone. Mary confirmed that she was looking at my message, so she knew I had no solid plans the party isn't until May 2017. If she couldn't or didn't want to help me, she should've taken a message for the owner, from jump, instead of insulting me and being ugly, as opposed to poorly representing the business and losing a potential customer. Adding insult to injury is the fact that instead of providing an attentive response, and even seeing if she could make things right, the owner dismissed my experience as my "interpretation," among other things and enaged in a long, defensive and emotional exchange on social media. The people a business hires, are its brand and just as important as the service/product provided. I love supporting local businesses, but won't tolerate poor customer service. Like I told Mary: My money spends elsewhere and someone else will treat me w/ the respect I deserve, as well as value my business.
When they made our wedding cake it was beautiful but too much fondant overpowered the cake and it was bitter we couldn't even eat it and they did not give us a box to put the top of it in do not go here if you want a nice wedding cake
