I’ve rating 3 stars because i’ve honestly heard such good things about Bakers Crust, but I was pretty disappointed. The bruschetta toast was definitely the best dish of the evening! Drinks were mediocre. My sandwich & salad combo was pretty sad looking for almost $15. Does the house salad normally just have croutons and cucumbers? Our waitress was really amazing though. I’d say it’s definitely worth a try + i’m willing to try it out again
This was a great experience. The host and our waiter were the best ever. The food itself was delicious. The biggest critic I have if any was for the shrimp and crab pasta the asparagus was under cooked by my taste.
Some of the BEST pizza in the area! Their wood burning pizza oven adds a depth of flavor to the already delicious house-made dough, mozzarella and tomato sauce and taste so fresh each and every time. Their tavern chips are a staple, mine are without bacon, but have been a fan favorite for years. Whether you go for the pizza, a sandwich made with their house-made breads, or a salad with greens from their own local farm, everything is exceptional and you will not be disappointed.
Always have a great experience here. The staff is awesome and the food is always delicious. Tap beer selection is awesome. The oven baked Bolognese is my favorite. Fish tacos and black beans are also a great choice!
Like an honest review? Follow me IMPORTANT UPDATE! - if you have celiac please note that the potatoes are NOT gluten free. We dropped the truck off across the street for tire rotation so walked over here for breakfast. The gluten free selection at least for breakfast was very limited. I opted for a traditional 2 egg breakfast with an English muffin. Looked fresh baked and tasted pretty good. A bit thicker than I prefer personally, but tasted better than it looked. The bacon tasted like old grease, but the potatoes were great. My boyfriend enjoyed the same meal with sourdough toast. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff friendly. Second trip here. Today my boyfriend got blueberry pancakes with lemon curd. He said they were good, but a generous portion that he could not finish. Third trip, lunch time. Not exactly impressed. Service was friendly. Food is edible, but ... nothing special. The bread on our sandwich was so lacking I actually gave up after three attempts and just ate the filling. Note how it's not even an actual slice. Just some pieces they put together, and on the bottom side next to the plate, my guess would be so I wouldn't notice. News flash - a sandwich is picked up. So, having two pieces as the bottom of my sandwich is the WORST idea. NOT appreciated. I ended up eating the filling with a fork. As for the filling - Pieces of a tomato , cold meat I get that it is a deli sandwich but I did ask for it to be heated, cucumber, a piece of cheese, avocado hard to eat with a fork, and the teeny tiniest amount of arugula possible. Came served with a bag of chips. For $15. Way too expensive for scraps of food. 1/16/23 - Came to breakfast again today and Alaina so? Informed me that the hash browns are not gf. Now I know why I remarked on them being so tasty. They're breaded. She also informed me that there are more options for a gf breakfast than just an English muffin. Unfortunately I don't eat poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, nor seafood. Staff was very apologetic about the misinformation I had been given during past visits so props for that. Idk if we will be back, but if not, it will merely be a matter of my personal taste. Accidents happen and the reality is, when one has a dietary issue they take a risk when eating out so I am not holding that against them. My advice, if you eat here and have celiac, make sure you state your issue clearly to the waitstaff. My boyfriend's meal was good. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu for lunch/dinner. Gluten free options for breakfast.
Katey helped me plan a catered baby shower event at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. And I can not say enough about how amazing their entire crew was. They helped me set up the space. They served an INCREDIBLE assortment of appetizers, food and drinks. Katey was always available to answer any of my questions. And really was just so kind and thoughtful. We love Baker's Crusts food and menus. They are our go-to on a girls day out for lunch. It just made sense they cater this event as well. They were so professional. And I really just enjoyed every aspect of working with them and, especially, Katey. Well done.
Always a good meal! Staff and service are always great. Menu covers a lot so it’s easy to find something for everyone. Nice beer selection too.
There was wait, but we were quickly seated. Because everything is being sanitized as it should the seats were wet. We mentioned the table and seats were wet and were given napkins to wipe it down. Hostess did not offer another table to us nor offer to have someone complete the job of drying the table and seats. Food came out quick. Looked delicious, tasted delicious. Though the food can out incorrectly, even after the server confirmed our order. Server was very knowledgeable in the menu. She seemed to rush through everything not allowing time for us to ask questions. When we were able to ask her questions, she was great with her descriptions of menu items. She had to come back to confirm one of the orders, didn’t write anything down, and forgot a bar drink completely. Didn’t have to ask for fountain drink refills. Price is a little high for us. Maybe a treat to go to every so often. Update: Server brought check and noticed the missing bar drink. She apologized and brought a free dessert. Very nice to hear and for her to do.
While the food smelled amazing & the atmosphere was relaxed, I can only share my experience of the service we received ... or rather, did not receive. A fan of Baker's Crust Richmond, but not chains so much, I attempted to treat my Mom to brunch today 2/22/23. We were promptly seated by a Hostess, then, shortly after, greeted by our Waitress in a fairly, 'quiet' section of the restaurant. She eventually took our drink orders, dropped off tea & water, then ghosted us. 15 minutes later, we walked to the entrance & informed the Hostess why we were leaving ... wanting nothing but to politely voice our complaint. She apologized & stated she would speak to our Waitress.
Bartender bought my son a cookie to share. Our food came within 10 minutes and everything regarding our dining experience was perfect. We were trying to order Crepes but we were 10 minutes from closing. One of the chef’s came out of the kitchen and said they would he happy to prepare. Thank you guys for finishing off a great day at the beach with our family.
