Bald Mountain Trail Head

It was a great hiking place. Apparently Its one of the most rugged places of all southeast Michigan but it wasn't really so bad. Theres been multiple rec areas I've been to in Southeast Michigan and will agree this is the most rugged one. Make sure you wear boots for this hike it can get really muddy.

It's a lovely park but I found getting around the park to be confusing. And yes, you have to pay to get in or have a state pass.

Did both the southern loop and the northern loop from this trailhead. Southern is good elevation changes and pacing. Northern is a little more relaxed and offers great views of the surrounding lakes. Good for a quick fix of nature! Solid quick day hike opportunity. Will be doing again in the future.

The hiking trails here are outstanding! Very well marked with signs at every intersection indicating where you are and which direction you are heading. The paths are well cleared and maintained. There are miles and miles of trails and if you added them all up it would probably be over 10 miles worth(rough estimate). To correct one of the other reviewers, as they stated there is one main trailhead however there are quite a few different location where you can park and still access the trails and you are not just limited to only the main trailhead entrance. Bring lots of bug spray you will need it. Enjoy!!

One entrance for the trails of the north unit of Bald Mountain. Easy access to water and miles of trails. Additionally there are entrances off of Predmore and Lake George. Trails are used for biking and those on foot. Lovely views
