Balistreri's Italian American Ristorante

My buddy grew up eating dinner here and he's been itching to eat here again. So we drove up and had a large pizza and ring calamari. Everything was AMAZING! Service was fast and the food was delicious. The place looks exactly like it did when he was a child. I believe the sign of a good pizza place is paper to go bags. I haven't seen that in so long. Highly recommend the food and the wine!

We finally made our way back to Balisteri's as it has been around a decade since our last visit since we don't live in Milwaukee. Nothing has changed. Same tasty food and same vibe as I remembered. We had a half order of eggplant as I remembered the whole order being pretty massive. The pizza was the highlight though...The sausage is top notch. I plan on visiting again when in Milwaukee.

No frills, classic Italian American restaurant. Everything you'd expect on the menu and it's done well. The fried eggplant is especially a treat. Cozy atmosphere adds to the experience. Always a good choice.

Wow. I am so happy this absolute gem is close to where my boyfriend and I just moved because oh my goodness it’s amazing. We ordered take out on Sunday classic pepperoni and cheese pizza and it was the best pizza we’ve both had in a long time. I mean come on, look at the picture. Amazing. We went in to the restaurant to pick up our food and it’s incredibly cozy, welcoming and cutesy in there! Everyone was very friendly. We can’t wait to come back and dine inside. This will 100% be our new take out pizza place and I can’t wait to try all the Italian dishes on the menu when dining in. All the food looked amazing and smelled wonderful. Grade A service and food! First time my son got to experience the great Italian cuisine as well as the beautiful ambience of this restaurant which has been a staple of Milwaukee for years. Garlic bread was so good the kids chicken strips were more than enough especially for the price. The Italian beef was amazing and the pizza was why I keep coming back!

This cozy restaurant in Tosa has been a favorite of Milwaukee area folks for generations, and with good reason! Their food is top-notch, the atmosphere is everything one could ask for in an old-school Italian bistro, and the service is fast and friendly. We love the fried eggplant with marinara dipping sauce, and it appeared on a recent visit that we were definitely not alone. And the cracker-thin pizza crust is the perfect base for the delectable toppings. Do yourself a favor and pop in when your next craving for Italian food comes knocking!

Ordered a pizza for take out. Was told it would be a 30-35 minutes for pick up. I was there to pick up in a half hour. Sadly it was very cold. Like it was sitting there for 20 minutes without a heat lamp or anything to keep it hot. I've been waiting to get back there for the great pizza. Tried to go last week. There was a 2 hour wait to be seated and a possible 2 hour wait for a pizza on top of that. Figured we could avoid all of that by getting a pick up.

Finding a place for a large family after a college graduation isn't easy. Choosing Balistreri's for my graduation dinner was easily a great choice. Besides the wait time because they don't take reservations, the service and food was amazing! Don't be afraid to take the pizza leftovers home, they taste great the next day too!Food: 5/5

My family ended up in the area one early Saturday afternoon and found this hidden gem. Best Italian restaurant in Wisconsin. Very fresh and delicious. More than anything else, dishes are not salty at all and not greasy. Even if you stuff yourself, you will not feel uncomfortable. It will be my designated Italian restaurant as long as I live here.

Ordered pizzas for takeout on a Friday night; they were well worth the hour and a half wait! Ordered a medium Vegetarian pizza, Pepperoni and Mushroom, and garlic bread. Pizzas are huge! Crust is very thin but not overly crunchy, holds up well to the toppings which were generous. Sauce was flavorful and not lacking. Can't recommend enough if you're looking for tavern cut pizza!
