Its one of the most symbolic/emotionally vexing of all the exibits ive visited, not only due to an franks story or my heritage, but of the deeply disturbing nature of a ara in history i pray the collective consensus remembers /learns from the mistakes their of.
The statue looks like people on fire flames of hell ...it really speaks to you in such a way the irony is uncanny.
I stumbled on this while on a lunch break walk. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot but also very timely to highlight a spot like this. I love discovering this city.
Really cool design and space, close walk to the inner harbor.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Beautiful memorial that is artfully and historically designed to give honor to those lost during the holocaust. However, the place could be better maintained with trash that accumulates and the water that collects under one of the monuments after a heavy rain.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Very eerie place when you first walk up to it. It's very well done.
When I visit this area for night life, for there are many fun things to do in this area for adults, I will stop and sit in this park before I leave. Sometimes it's overwhelming when I read the monument, but it makes me stronger. I'm not Jewish, gay, disable, or old. I'm just mindful and compassionate about people. As a man, this monument validates how I stand.
A nice little memorial to remind us of what happens when people sit idle and let those with nefarious agendas have their way. However, it was a shame to see so much trash behind the monument. It looked like homeless people used it as a storage depot. It was also apparent that people or animals had relieved themselves beneath the edges of the East side of the monument. It had a strong smell of urine and there was some feces.
To say it's a emotional place is an understatement. Simply standing there and reading some of the quotes of the survivors, makes it very sobering moment. I am glad that Baltimore is committed to educating people about the horrific nature of the Holocaust and more importantly the resilience and bravery of those who survived.
