Must visit in person. To expierience all that the Katyn Memorial has to offer. Excellent sculpture monument. Enjoy the photos I have taken for those that are unable to see in person. May all have a great day. Bye bye.
This is an amazing piece of art, the pain and suffering inflicted by the Soviets on WWII Polish officers is very intensely represented in the contorted postures of the statues. I saw the monument in Jersey City too but this one is so much more poignant.
Impressive memorial. The background information given next to the monument was appreciated. A good sightseeing stop for those with an interest in Polish history or a connection to Poland.
Stunning monument to commemorate the victims of Russian barbarism and lies regarding the massacre of Polish military officers and members of the educated class in the Katyn Forest area. Signs and granite plaques give additional details about the monument and famous Poles who contributed to American history.
Beautiful and meaningful monument. Honoring the lives of the fallen and enriching the cultural scene in Baltimore .
The National Katyń Memorial is a monument in Baltimore, Maryland, which memorializes the victims of the 1940 Katyn massacre of Polish nationals carried out by Soviet forces. Baltimore's Polish-American community was instrumental in having the monument built. Wikipedia
One of the darkest chapters in Polish history is commemorated and memorialized in a beautiful city sculpture. It is important to never forget the tragedies that are caused by human cruelty. The information provided on the nearby plaques is really helpful to understand what happened, and reflects the close relations between American and Polish communities.
from today's visit in Baltimore! Great views!
Found this by chance on an early morning walk. Very interesting and very much worth a visit. It’s a beautiful memorial of sorts honoring some important heroes that I never knew about.
