Brooklyn Academy of Music is by far one of finest establishments with a very rich artistic history. I went to visit the BAM Rose theater to see The Woman King. The movie experience was extraordinary, however I did notice the theater did not smell fresh. Also there is no bathroom on the main level, which is a great disappointment. As I am a senior citizen, having to walk up two flights of stairs was thoroughly unnecessary. At some point BAM is going to have to upgrade and modernize their building, or else they will lose out on the very senior population that supports the arts. Other than that I enjoy being in the company of sophisticated audiences, and look forward to returning in the future.
I went to see Jimmy Kimmel #1 live in Brooklyn & I loved the show & the theater is super beautiful . Yo fui a show de Jimmy Kimmel Pues me estaba excelente y el teatro es muy lindo
My family attended the 37th annual celebration in honor of the late, great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event was outstanding, inspirational, and well received by many. The staff at BAM were cordial, well organized, and generally pleasant. The lines were long, and from my vantage point, the patrons were patient and well mannered. The theater was clean, and the guests presented quite well. Harlem Sing was phenomenal, and the key note speaker delivered. Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoldo was the master of ceremony and added to the stellar show!
Nice looking theatre. Unfortunately, our seats were behind the stage so we couldn't get to fully admire the space. Recommend.
It was my first time coming to this theater. It's a very convenient location and the theater is beautiful. The acoustic is great for a rock concert and I'm sure it's even better for opera or a stage show. The staffs are very courteous, that makes the experience even better. I was seated in the balcony section and I got a great view of the whole stage, I suspect there are no bad seats in the house other than the ones next to the support columns. Be careful walking up and down the stairs, as they are very steep and quite a few people tripped. Although that's common for theater designs, please be careful to avoid injuries. The bathrooms are kept very clean and that's always a plus. I came here to see Madonna and I went home happy though she kept the whole theater waiting till 10:30.
I went here to see Jimmy Kimmel Live and I loved the venue. BAM is huge and has a lot of seats, 3 floors worth. The staff is really friendly and nice. There are a lot of public restrooms. I would definitely go here for another performance. Would recommend checking this place out.
Visited for the first time to see the Tuesday taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live's week in Brooklyn. The Opera House was gorgeous. Easily accessible by train which is a plus because parking is horrible in the neighborhood. Would go back for other events at the venue.
Was notified 1 hour before the performance of the sign in Sydney Bernsteins window was canceled. Purchased these tickets 6 months ago as a b-day present. The only thing management could do was hand me a paper saying I'd be reimbursed in 5 days and I could rebook if there were tickets available which is unlikely and if so 10 x what payed. Very disappointed at how this was handled
Very beautiful place with lots of history to it. My first visit here for a show was absolutely special. The organization is great and it's a very classy venue to attend a show at, make sure you dress nicely. The leg space between the seats isn't big enough especially for tall people.
Nice theater, clean, I trade off the new modern theaters with recliners for an older nice theater with out the crowds. A good trade off I say
