Let me start by saying that this restaurant was a very good choice for restaurant week. There are a few things that bring this from a five-star to four-star restaurant but let me start with the good things! The apps that we got were the potato croquettes and the sesame chicken wings. These were very special and well done and super delicious. The sauces were unique and gave the appetizers a really good taste. The desserts that we got were also unique and not too sweet. I would go back just to eat the desserts! The cuts of meat for the main entrees were really good and high quality, however I felt that the main entrees weren't that unique and were a little bit pricey for Korean BBQ. Otherwise the flavor and taste was there. The service was a bit slow because of restaurant week but that is understandable.
One of my favorite Korean restaurants. Love their happy hour till 9pm. My favorite is their lychee martinis. Everything is delicious. We ordered the sushi roll, croquettes and chicken buns for appetizers. For mains we had the chicken bibimbap and the salmon. Excellent meal.
Not traditional Korean, and not inexpensive, but quite good. The meat was a little too sweet for my taste, and we ordered a carafe of makgeolli that tasted like the artificially sweetened stuff you get at H-mart. Stick with the cocktails and soju instead.
I went during restaurant week and got the BBQ, safe it say it was amazing. The flavors meld very well with each other, and everything tasted so good. I even ate the salad with glee and I normally never eat salads. I truly recommend this establishment.
Korean food for the non-korean folks, it's good but it isn't quite authentically Korean so someone used to Korean food maybe disappointed. Great for a date though, good ambience with dim lighting. Service was good and happy hour specials are only available at the bar, not the restaurant.
Thoroughly enjoyed coming here for a fine Korean dinner! A solid menu offering of classic Korean dishes to BBQ. Dishes are nicely and beautifully put together and there was plenty of it for the cost you pay. You also get to DIY BBQ, which helps one to enjoy the meal at their own pace and not feel rushed by the typical table service anticipated.
Loved this place. We couldn't stop talking about it the day after. Had the beef short rib and pork belly BBQ. Delicious! You cook your own meat over grills built into the tables. Would be a great date spot since you have plenty of time to chat while the meat is cooking. Excellent service. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Great service, good food especially the Bulgogi, but it's pretty pricey. I went here for restaurant week - $29 for an appetizer, entree and dessert. If you don't go during RW, you'll spend anywhere from $25-$35 on an entree if you get the good stuff and $11-$16 for appetizers, so I'm glad we tried this place out when we could get a taste of everything and not break the bank. The dumplings were really great, especially with the sauce and seasoned/saucy lettuce they paired them with. But the Bulgogi made the meal. There was an amazing amount of flavor on the meat and a TON of meat - this choice made the whole meal. The Bi Bim Bap didn't really blow me away. It really lacked the flavor and spice kick I was looking for. To be a staple Korean dish, I just expected more. And, the service was fantastic. Overall, I'd go back but know what not to get and to get less of it so I don't spend an arm and a leg.
Located in Hell’s kitchen. If you are looking for clean and decent korean food, this is a good place to check out. However I felt that the food was bit over-priced for the portion size. Personally, I prefer my seafood pancake crispier. But I thought the handles for the pork galbi was a cute and thoughtful.
I've been to Bann before and was never impressed with the food because it's not authentic Korean food that I'm always searching for but this visit really pleasantly surprised me. Ambiance: it's nice inside. It can be romantic, it can be casual, it can be elegant, it can be cozy, it's great for date nights, girls night out, family gatherings, or even happy hour with co-workers. Food: the food isn't authentic Korean but it's great Korean food with a flair. We had the fried calamari which was doughy but crispy and delicious. We also had the steak tartare bibimbap with generous serving of the steak tartare as well as the dish itself. And we had the Korean chicken soup which was delicious and big enough for two. Service: very attentive. We were especially pleased with out server who took our order in Korean although he clearly wasn't. Love it! There were signs for a happy hour by the lounge area which we did not take advantage of. Looked like a $5 cocktail deal.
