I’ve always came here for dinner the burger is one of the best in the city BUT recently came for brunch and it was some of the best brunch food I’ve had. The jacked up home fries had amazing flavor, and it didnt feel too heavy. Then the cinnamon and sugar french toast was the perfect sweet treat. The espresso martini wasn’t amazing, but the food made up for it.
My wife, our friends, and I visited this is restaurant during Halloween weekend. We were met with great service and great seating. The food options are German inspired and reminded me of the brief time I spent in Frankfurt Germany. I would recommend that one should try the Bratwurst sandwich, which is what I got. It had a good balance of the sauerkraut and the Bratwurst, so tasty! Can't forget to shout out their beer and drink selections. Of course everyone else enjoyed their dishes too. But I am biased. And lastly, we were celebrating our friend's birthday and the dessert was phenomenal, lemon cream. We dug right in and almost forgot to get a quick pic of it before it disappeared. All in all we really enjoyed our time there and it capped off a great night.
Been meaning to make my way over here, and we finally stopped in for Valentine's Day. Delicious starters with their board - salmon nigiri, cheese curds, and to-die-for butter with bread. My fried chicken sandwich was good, but I do wish it had a little more sauce throughout. Loved the cocktails as well!
My husband and I FREQUENT this place and it has never disappointed. I’ve tried just about everything on the menu - from the Hygge boards down to nearly every appetizer and seasonal desserts. The steak is divine. The consistency is always there. Love the AC expressway cocktail in the summer and the spiced sangria in the winter Staff is friendly and attentive! Service on point and ambience is spectacular. This place is nearly a weekly go to and I always recommend to friends. Would recommend a reservation on weekends and on those nicer nights just to ensure you get a table! 11/10 would recommend.
Bar Hygee is a true gem of a place; it dazzles in every sense. From the thoughtful whimsicality of the decor to the curated comfort and coziness of the atmosphere to the impeccable, exceptionally warm service shout out to Morgan- an absolute dynamo! to the purposefully playful and out-of-this-world delicious drinks & dishes, Stu and his visionary, industrious team have created a textbook manifestation of the concept from which this place takes its name. THANK YOU for the fabulous swag ; and for hosting us with such generosity of spirit! We'll be back again and again!
We came to Bar Hygge on a whim for the first time last weekend and were very impressed by the experience! I didn't realize that they brewed their own beer, which were all quite tasty. I would give the food a 4 out of 5, which is not bad at all. I ordered an assorted board -- the proscuitto and cheese were very good, but the ricotta toast was under-seasoned and a bit too bread-y. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich, which he said was "pretty good". The service from our bartender was top notch... our empty glasses were never left empty for long. We can't wait to come back!
Such a cute, comfy bar. Great to meet up with the girlies for drinks or a date spot. Their bar area is intimate and their cocktail/drinks menu is great. I've gotten the lunch before and this time opted for the rose. Cant go wrong with any of their drink choices 5/5 Their food options are great for sharing so it's great for groups. We had gone between the meat vs the cheese option for the board and opted for a mix of the two. Our waiter was patient and knowledgeable to help us make the final decision. We previously ordered the fried brussel sprouts for our last visit. I think overall my impression of the food has been 3.5/5 stars. The staff was 5/5 SO sweet! Would recommend. For dessert we were deciding between a few options when our waiter came out with a surprise dessert with a candle for my friend's birthday. Parking: Depending on the time of day, finding parking can be difficult. On a weekday evening, you are looking for parking to eat whilst people are getting home from work. There is street parking—on some streets it’s paid and others it’s free. I take whatever I can find first. Some spots say “no parking between X hours” which looks tricky but usually you can park there!
One of my absolute favorite places! The food is always cooked to perfection and the drinks are so tasty! Aside from an amazing meal, the atmosphere is so warm and inviting and the staff are such fantastic people and very knowledgeable, I often ask for recommendations and they never let me down! I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Special shout out to the manager Jackie, she’s an absolute gem of a human being, super helpful and dedicated to giving everyone a good experience. I will continue coming to this establishment often. Thank you Bar hygge for a consistently wonderful experience!
The service was outstanding and super attentive, host and waitstaff. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was perfectly seasoned. Two sizeable pieces of chicken, with a choice of salad or fries. I was a little disappointed by the salad, as it was only greens and dressing - nothing else. Also the cheese board was disappointing for the price, but it tasted good. Parking was really difficult to find this particular Friday evening, likely due to a lot of people being out for the Phillies game.
Literally what can't this place do? The perfect happy hour spot / post work hang, great for brunch, fancier dinners, casual food, late night cocktails.... truly a Fairmount institutionFood: 5/5
