Before Pandemic, I used to go to this place religiously for over a year... Barre3 was the first ever/only workout class that I really enjoyed - it was actually fun! Here is the list of things I liked; 1. owner/ instructor: Jennifer is very engaging. Even though it was a group class, I felt like she was really paying attention to each and every clients. 2. Facility : This place was ALWAYS clean whether that be the studio or the bathroom. 3. Zen moment: After the crazy, sweaty workout, the moment of gratitude session always calmed me down before I started my day. 4. Offer: they offered CBD residents a discount for monthly membership. 5. Instructors: Other instructors were also very good but of course, OG Jennifer is the best ; 6. Stretching : Barre3 had a emphasis on stretching, which is not always the case with other workout classes. 7. flexibility : The class is suitable for literally anybody. Instructors offer a toned down version of movement in case someone has a mobility issue. Overall, it was the only thing that pushed me to get up early and workout. Due to closure during pandemic, I had to switched to online membership which was also amazing as well - I ended up buying all their props online lol. Jen used to send a bonus workout via email as well... Since then I moved on to more rigorous exercise but I miss this place and plan to take drop by classes here and there.
I always leave this studio so glad that I attended class here. This is 60 minutes of variety that keeps me moving and motivated and getting stronger - and each time I've attended class, no 2 work-outs have been exactly the same. I've liked all of the instructors I've had at this studio. I appreciate that classes are usually not crowded, which allows the instructors to offer adjustments to individual students. At the core, barre3 is an efficient & effective work-out, and the attitude of kindness which includes encouraging being kind to yourself! at this studio is infectious.
Love this studio! Their covid precautions were on point. The staff working the front desk are so kind and helpful. I took a class with Kathryn. She was an awesome, upbeat, and motivating instructor. I will definitely be recommending this studio to friends.
Barre3 offers a great full body workout in an hour. The instructors are knowledgeable and offer assistance in finding modifications if you need them. The studio is nice and the music for each class really gets you motivated. Classes are alittle pricey but they offer a few specials that you can take advantage of.
I enjoyed this class. Out of town and had wanted to try a Barre 3 class. More yoga focused with longer holding patterns than another Barre company I have taken. Love the differences. It was a good workout and I'll be sore tomorrow. This studio was large, clean, and folks were welcoming and friendly. Playlist was good and motivating but not overly loud. VERY happy about that! Three things I'd enhance 1. Loved there to have been lockable lockers 2. Felt the studio floor could have been swept / cleaned just a wee bit better 3. I didn't see a changing room but maybe I missed it. Fine since I came from hotel already in my Barre clothes but would have been different if I'd needed to change. I'd recommend ladies to come here and also especially if you are an out of towner like me
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My friends and I came here recently and had a negative experience for two reasons. 1. My friend injured her back midway through class, and had to lay down on the floor for the remainder of class. Our instructor, Morgan, did not approach her or show any concern for her. Though she repeatedly checked in with other students in the class, to correct their form, etc. At the end of the, Morgan approached our group and displayed some concern when she realized my friend was injures. Though her response was less than sympathetic. She said, “No rush leaving the studio, but we have a community class starting in 10 minutes.” It was unprofessional and rude. 2. I had booked my class online prior to coming here. When I arrived, the two women behind the counter told me I wasn’t booked in the system. We came to realize I had booked my class at the other barre3 in town, which operates as a separate franchise. The two employees were less than helpful. When I asked if I could take the class anyway, they said no. They were ready to send me home as opposed to helping me solve the problem, saying they couldn’t do anything without the owner. Just before class started, I was able to call the other studio, get a refund, and pay at this location. The employees were helpless and totally unprofessional. Would not recommend.
Not really a barre class. This class was more like just a generic gym class with low weights. Think what is usually the warm-up in a barre class-- that's the entire class. Mostly just body weight squatting and lunging, adding some tricep kickbacks in here and there. Plus a little time down on the mat at the end. Virtually no time at the barre my first class we were there for 1 exercise total; my second we were there for 3 total, and even then, it was just more squatting. Don't come here expecting your favorite barre exercises: no foldover, no arabesque, no hip swings, no pretzel, no waterski, no backdancing -- we never even stood on 1 leg! It's also quite boring because you do the same exercise for a *really* long time like 10 minutes straight of back-stepping lunges. Also, the floor is HARD like shallacked cork?, but they prohibit you from wearing socks unless you have the grippy socks. So it also HURTS to be doing everything barefoot on a super hard surface. I regret buying the new member 3-class special bc now I'm having to go back to get my money's worth.... [Note: it's possible it's just one bad instructor-- I ended up getting the same instructor both days, unfortunately.] [Update: the instructor for my third class, Amy, was substantially better. More Pilates movements, and she built more variety into each exercise so we didn't just do the same exercise for 10 min straight.... I've increased my stars from 2 to 3.]
The downtown New Orleans studio is terrific! The facility is bright and clean; the classes are invigorating and challenging; and the instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this location to novices and aficionadas alike.
beautiful space! curtains/windows! this is downtown, modern and such a grounding, but yet very challenging workout!
I have been coming to the downtown b3 studio since it opened, and I am still hooked!!! Taking a b3 class is always the highlight of my day!
