Bay Ridge Art Space

Amazing space, beautiful and professionally done. I really enjoyed the opening. Great variety of work by talented artists. Alonsa and James, the owners are great artists and such warm people. This is such an important addition to Bay Ridge and the art community in general. If people have a chance, absolutely take a class there, it is a not to be missed opportunity to learn from very skilled artists. I am excited to see what is next for this new art space.

There's so much that I have to say about Bay Ridge Art Space but, so little space to say it all. My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude at the, attention, care, interest, effort and most of all, dedication that both Mr. James Razko and Ms. Alonsa Guevara inputted into my 13yro daughter's Art Portfolio for her recent 10-28-2018 La Guardia H.S. audition. James and Alonsa are not just professional and talented artists, they are also heart-warmed humans with a luminous soul. In as such, that although we have completed our objective, my daughter has asked me to please allow her to continue learning and growing at Bay Ridge Art Space.....can anyone guess what my response was?! It was a "YES". If your looking for a true Art experience, this is it!!! I promise you, you will NOT regret it!

A very professional space for artists to learn and to exhibit. The owners, James and Alonsa, are fantastically talented as well as welcoming. If you are interested in taking classes here, you will be more than thankful you did.

Bay Ridge Art Space is an art gallery AND classroom taught by highly acclaimed artists, Alonsa and James. I attended an acrylic painting class where we made a painting inspired by Van Gogh. During the three-hour course, Alonsa and James taught us how to paint Van Gogh style from start to finish. Though three hours may seem like a long time, the time really flew by as we painted. I was happy with my finished painting which is hanging on the wall in a place of honor at my place. The price point is competitive for the level of expertise that Alonsa and James provide. Alonsa and James make the class special. You can easily tell they enjoy teaching the class and sharing their knowledge of art and art history. Their personalities complement each other and make the class fun. The studio/gallery - The space also serves as a work studio so you can see works-in-progress by Alonsa and James. Additionally the space is a gallery of work from local artists. Several pieces depicted the local landscape of Bay Ridge the Verrazano, the bay, etc., which I thought was pretty cool. Alonsa and James will make it fun for you. Seriously, go see for yourself!

Alonsa Guevara is great artist and great teacher. Our daughter has gone to her for three years. Now she is attending La guardian High School for which Alonsa guided and inspired her on her portfolio. She also helped her on developing work for submission to art competition for which she won awards. We found Alonsa because she would teach in oil, a must medium to know for a serious artist. Our daughter really enjoyed being taught by her teacher and always looked forward to her sessions with Alonsa.

Beautiful space! The art is really good and the classes too, James and Alonsa not only are kind but both of them know so much about art, you have to take their class, you will learn and have fun at the same time.

James and Alonsa are the best artists I've ever met. They run such wonderful and funny paiting classes. This is a must in your next things to do.

This is one of the best place you can experience contemporaly paintings/arts by real propessionals down in Brooklyn.
