Story

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine achieves our mission through patient services that address the needs of women of all ages, including routine obstetrics and gynecologic care, education of medical students and residents, and clinical and laboratory research conducted by our outstanding faculty. The department conducts research in both the clinical, translational, and basic science realms.

The department currently has over 60 faculty members and more than 75 volunteer faculty members assisting with clinical care, residency training and research. These faculty members cover clinical responsibilities at various locations such as Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women and affiliates including Texas Children's Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital, and Harris County Hospital District including its outlying clinics.
