Small, stylish, long-lived, relatively recently renovated Italian joint with fire pits, local art, screen porches, and an amiable wooden wine bar. Artfully beautiful food, perfectly and thoughtfully, plated simply but with that special Italian chutzpah! Their fried shrimp are not as transcendent as at the other little Italian spot across the way, but we loved the ambiance, service, food, and wine.
Update 12/23/20: Don’t forget about your local wine shops this holiday season! I know Total Wine is so convenient, but if you want to shop locally and support small business, then we have several excellent options including but not limited to Bella Monte, Yianni’s, Tinto, and more! Yes, they have pricier wines, but they also often have excellent options that are more budget-conscious. You also have the benefit of their expertise! I just went into Bella Monte and one of the owners, Chris, helped me find a nice French champagne for New Year’s Eve, an interesting red that I’d never heard of before, as well as some options from their 3 for $36 section. And I trust their judgment a lot more than the grocery store’s for a $12 bottle of wine! Salut I never cease to be both pleased and amazed whenever I'm here. Their wine pairing events are phenomenal and allow me to taste a variety of wines in a casual atmosphere. The food is truly out of this world – even foods of which I'm not usually fond, I typically enjoy here. I particularly recommend any kind of pork here... And whatever they put on special. Seriously, I don't care what it is, it's awesome. The owners are hands-on and involved – don't be surprised if they come by your table – and absolutely trust their recommendations! 10 out of 10 would come again. And the atmosphere is fantastic – cozy, but nice. Appropriate for a wide range of audiences and price points. I highly, highly recommend. Edit: check out their brunch, y’all
The food was absolutely amazing! I hate saying it, but it was our first time there, but definitely not the last. We will be going back very soon!!!
First ever being there and my experience was exactly what I expected. The host greeted us with such a infectious smile, the waiter was knowledge, kind and engaged in conversation, food was exquisite and delicious that I wanted to like the plate. I truly recommend this place so you can experience what i have for I'll be back.
Enjoyed a piping hot plate of bolognese accompanied by a cold stout. Bella Monte has a warm ambiance and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Appetizers came quickly followed by entrees in another 10 minutes tops. Quite pleased that this was the choice today's dinner.
Beautiful presentation with bursting flavors! I had the Seared Scallops with raspberry drizzle, Brussel sprouts and butternut squash puree. My husband had the crab stuffed flounder with Yukon potatos. Absolutely fantastic
Food was delicious and our waitress was so kind! The ciabatta bread was flavorful and baked perfectly! I had a shrimp pasta dish and my husband had the lamb chops - both were so good! Loved the cozy vibes. Also loved the wine room connected to the restaurant - I stopped in and picked up a bottle for 30% off!! Great deal! Will definitely be returning!
It took a little time for the waitress to come to us I believe we sat in this place for about 20 minutes before the waitress came and gave us our drinks which was only water and bread that was a little hard. The overall atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice it's nestled in the cut off of laskin road in Virginia Beach Virginia it has a outdoor eating area which is very romantic as well as an indoor ambiance which is equally as romantic. this is a good place to go just to relax with a very good friend or if you are trying to have an intimate encounter the staff is very friendly and if it wasn't for the fact that the food took so long to come out I would say that this was a 4-star to 5-star eating establishment. They also wine when you first come in for a price I believe it was $36 for three bottles. If I had it to do all over again I believe I would definitely go back the prices are reasonable not too high but worth the cost.
First time there and everything was good. From appetizer to dessert and coffee no complains.
This dumpster was a pure delight. The first notable aspect of it was its accessible height. Many dumpsters can be difficult to reach and will leave your belly with unfortunate scratches and bruises. This dumpster, however, was so approachable that I felt like I was simply gliding in when I followed the smell of some kind of delicious mystery sauce. The sauces were what this dumpster excelled at. Green. Red. Some kind of brown. More red. Any kind of delicious sauce that my bear imagination could generate seemed possible. Even the other guests of this dumpster were more welcoming than most. Sure, the raccoon who seemed to be wearing the cardboard box I chewed on was very screechy upon seeing me, but the small unidentifiable rodents were so kind and kept their biting at a minimum. I hope to revisit this dumpster soon.
