I just went back to Beluga Billiards last night after not having gone there in over a year. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was under new management. I felt so at ease there. The new owner was so nice and friendly and easy to talk to. The prices are very fair at only $7.50 per person for unlimited time. It's just a flat rate and you can play for as long as you like. I plan on going back often and being a regular there.
excellent place, love the nice tables, all 9 foot league style tables, 9 in front in the non drinking section, and a few more in the back with the beer and wine. NEW MANAGEMENT as of the 5/1/13 and the new manager is awesome, good player, knows his stuff, good music, nice atmosphere, loved this billiard, will go back again, nice to not have to worry about putting quarters in the table, or only playing for a few hours and paying by the hour, was able to stay and shoot pool for 11 hours, and their new house pro is pretty good, if you end up playing 9 ball with him, don't expect to win at all but he will teach you a few things.
I would leave this place zero stars if I could. Stopped in a couple of weeks ago because I heard this place was pretty fun. I saw some really cool arcade games but they were turned off. Don't know what was up with that. Figured I would Try and enjoy a couple of adult beverages while playing some pool but the girl working was more interested in playing the pinball machine instead of serving the customers. Waited for almost 40 minutes for her to finish playing pinball and serve us another drink. After that I decided I was unsatisfied and left. I will not be coming back.
The Pool hall is in better condition than it used to be but between being laughed at for suggesting he carry diet soda, I'm a Diabetic, and after our fourth person showed and I got to play one game of eight ball with my son he told us we had to move to one table as a party of four because he had another party show up. I don't know if the new owner actually plays pool but eight ball and nine ball are 2 player games. we politely played cutthroat on one table until our fourth showed until could actually play pool then got one game in before we were told we ha to move. I asked about it politely as I don't even understand the business ethic behind it and was told "im sorry your unhappy" Well I'm sorry also and am no longer going to be splitting my time between beluga and palace.
A few pool tables are the main feature here. Cheap prices and relaxed environment. There's an Xbox with a weak selection of games for it. And a bad TV All I can remember for now, I'll update this if I ever go back.
Great staff, good tables, great atmosphere. I play here at least 3 times a week and I enjoy every minute - definitely would recommend you go and check it out. They also serve good food and beers; and in addition to pool tables they have foosball, darts, and a mini-arcade!
Great place to hang out. Everyone chooses the music and there's pinball, darts and board games. The owner, Mike, is a super nice guy and all the food is made in-house. Wonderful place to play pool!
Beluga Billiards is a great place to play pool. One low price for unlimited play and nice 9' tables to play on. Nice 21 and over option with a great selection of beer. Friendly and knowledgeable staff to boot. Definitely where I go to play pool.
The new owner is a great guy. He works hard, and said he's trying to fix things up to make the place better for the customers. He just wants the community to feel there is a great place that's safe, relaxing, and sociable for the youth of Anchorage. Let alone the every other day person to just come in and feel like their a regular. He comes in and opens up at 2:00 pm instead of 5:30 pm. thank god I can play more now instead of wasting the money on a theater movie. Beside I found the place pretty nice, and it nice to chit-chat with new people while playing a game of pool, darts, or ping pong. I saw there was also board games, air hocky, and even video games. But I find my self grinning when he comes over and shows me how to do a new move on the table or plays a round when he's not to busy.
Beluga is a a great pool hall. Plenty of tables, friendly staff, and arcade machines. The tables are well maintained and have plenty of quality cues. They have a 21 and over section with a great selection of beer. Their food menu is good too and very reasonably priced.
