So, we haven't been to Ben's Bottle Shop in a while, decided to pop in again, glad we did! They have really upped their food game, along with a really good selection of beers, and a great bottle selection too! We tried a few appetizers and the happy hour deviled eggs, happy hour is posted as 2-5 everyday. The food was presented picture perfect and was just the thing to go with the refreshing beers! They also have a huge selection of games to pass a lazy afternoon hanging out. We definitely need to slip this spot into the regular rotation!
We were pleasantly surprised by Ben's! We were picking up our CSA box at a nearby place and decided to pop into Ben's for dinner and a brew. Great tap selection and extensive cooler selection! Food was super tasty. Our favorite was the beet salad. The goat cheese medallion was a delicious addition and the presentation was on point. The pretzel was really tasty and the nachos were good too. Only critique was that the bottom layer of chips stuck badly to the parchment paper used on the nacho tray so we didn't get to enjoy it all since there was paper stuck to it. Not the worst thing in the world though! The game wall is a fun unique addition we played cribbage with the board there and the local art exhibit on the walls in the additional room was fun too! Great attentive friendly service even when a customer next to us was being really rude, the person working handled it with grace and smile. Not an easy thing to do. We will definitely be coming back!
Good beer selection. The nachis were great and good enough yo state. The pretzel was great with mustard. The beer cheese was lacking a salt flavor that I prefer. probably won't add that on again,
Had the pastrami Reuben and tried the bone marrow Appetizer. Never had bone marrow. It's decadent, velvety, oily. Was very good. Cane with toasted bread, pickled veg and garlic with course sea salt. The Reuben was the star. Bread toasted perfect. Melty cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing. Took the other half home and it was still just as good! Comes with a side salad. No table service, you order at the bar. Nice local beer and ciders on tap. Bartender was great, friendly and efficient!
I love coming here. It's so chill and laid back. A great selection of beers, and the quality of food is Amazing. The food is on another level. Like seriously. The place is very clean and the staff is awesome too. They even have happy hour spot too. All in all, one of my favorite places to grab a brew and some good food
Loving Ben’s. Great service. Excellent tap list. And the food! Not your standard tap house fair. Lots of amazing choices and some specials to die for. Oh and if there isn’t anything on tap to your taste, there will be something in the giant wall of refrigerated cans and bottles.
Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of coolers with some great beers to enjoy there or bring home with you. Also plenty of great, hard to find taps. Think this will be one of my favorite stops while in Portland.
Service was great once we realized we needed to go to the bar to order. Would have been five 5 stars, but the main seating area was smokey from grill, we ended up sitting out in 'garage' area to be out of the smoke. They have a huge specialty beer selection! Will be back to do wine on the next visit!
Nice local spot amongst a variety of good eats. Plenty of room to chill. TV, board games nice selection of drinks and food.
Very disappointed. Came here to enjoy some local beers with my husband and our dog. So normally I sit outside with the dog while my husband looks at the beers, gets his order and then we switch. Due to an event, part of the outdoor seating is closed by a garage door. My husband's was "graciously" allowed to come sit with me on the patio we were told they would not be opening the garage door again. So here I am, without drink and not allowed to get a drink and come sit with my husband and dog. We will not return here.
