Great experience, although I was surprised to learn the establishment catered only to photograph and framing. I went to find a lens adapter thinking that it was a "camera shop". Someone was still able to help me! Amazing!
Bennett's Photo CLOSED DOWN sometime in the beginning of 2020. ***UPDATE!!**** As you can see by the owner response, they are very much open! YAAY!! Unfortunately they do not sell cameras anymore, and have transitioned completely over to digital printing. I recently brought some 35 mm film to them and the turnaround time expected was 3 weeks. I got a call back from them in 4 days. I have always been and am still very pleased with their service and their customer service.
I strongly don't recommend this place. My soror sister did a post about the way they treated her and it was ridiculous. She's a well respected business woman who does a lot for her community and at risk youth. She just lost a family member and tried to get some pictures off of old instant cameras, They quoted her twelve dollars a camera for 15 cameras and also told her whatever film didn't come out she wouldn't have to pay for. Once they completed the pictures they tried to charge her almost $300 stating it was processing fees and was threatened by the cashier that they would keep the pictures if she didn't pay the new amount. Not to add they told her she had to pay for the film that didn't come out. The manager and cashier was very rude and disrespectful to her. By the look of other reviews this is a thing with these people.Be careful!
By a wide margin the best camera shop in the Greater New Orleans area. Positives, a knowledgeable staff who are all obviously photographers that know their products. The staff was honest about the abilities and performance limits of the camera I was purchasing and they didn't try to up sell me anything. Negatively, I wish they had a wider selection. That said I left satisfied. I would recommend Bennet's Camera over any other camera shop in the city
Saw a Facebook post from a dear friend on how disrespectful this business is. She warned that anyone doing business with this company should receive a detailed invoice. They will tell you one price and once the work is complete will change the price and deny what they initially quoted, Don't waste your time with the manager he is very ignorant.
AMAZING! such great customer service each time i go in. So helpful and nice. prices are great if you want to develop film and want to learn the quick bases of learning how to use your camera. i would recommend this place to anyone who needs help with film !
Don't care or don't know Not sure if the staff doesn't care about there work or if they don't know. Got a quote for a specific film because I was not even sure if it could be developed locally. So the price started reasonable. Then...oh it's small and we need more time ... and it's almost 5 times more expensive for prints. I would have called around for more pricing had I known this from the first time I asked for a quote. Never going back.
Excellent workers. Got me my film roll emailed to me in 2 days, when they said 7. Very professional
I had two lenses for sale AF60mm retail 502.00 and a AF 70-300ED retail 305.00 never used still in box with all paper work. Ask them to buy them , I was offered 150.00 for the 60mm and 35.00 for the 70-300mm. Now you know how much room they have to work with when you are buying equipment so don't make them rich when you buy MAKE AN OFFER OR DONT BUY THEIR MARKUP ITS AROUND 400% Good Luck
