This store truly is terrible for customer service. There was an item on the shelf clearly behind a tag that said $24.99. When I got to the register it rang up for $60. After showing her where it was she wouldn't budge with adjusting the price. Said that it wasn't their fault for items being in the wrong place. I told them it's not my fault for the item being in the wrong spot. After this argument. I rejected all the other items I was going to buy. About $80 worth. Best Buy used to be really good a few years ago, now I doubt I will go to another Best Buy again
Long time customer and generally happy with service, but today went in for a second 65” C2, which I verified was in stock via the app, stopped in, located the tv in the back, waited 10 minutes for an associate to no avail, went up to customer service and let them know I needed assistance with a television, and was told they’d have someone with me shortly. Went back and waited 15 more minutes before deciding to leave. Seemed to be a staffing shortage.
Made an appointment for a battery replacement on my iPhone 7. Showed up at my assigned time. Tech checked to make sure they had a battery. Then proceeded to tell me that sometimes they crack the screen on iPhone 7’s and to be prepared for that. I asked if the screen replacement would be free, and he said yes. But then he said that I might need to leave it for a week if they broke the screen. No one would leave their only phone for a week! I asked why it would need to be left there and at that point he said they didn’t have screens on hand. I said I would come back when they had both the battery and the screen in stock. THEN, he said they couldn’t get any screens due to the age of the phone! But he said it was rare to break the screen. So, I told him to go ahead and try. THEN he said they didn’t actually even have an Apple Certified Tech on hand to replace the battery! REALLY?? Tell me that at the end of a conversation?? I drove 25 minutes for that sole purpose, and you tell me that piece LAST???? He used way too many words to tell me what he could’ve said in 3-4 sentences. I walked out very unhappy with Geek Squad and will NOT be returning!
After a truly horrendous experience with their “National call center” representatives I was thankful to finally bring in my computer to Geek Squad to get fixed. Paul the Geek Squad repair agents was truly amazing! He was helpful, thoughtful and took my concerns seriously and went well above and beyond my expectations to turn a stressful and horrendous experience into a more positive one, for that im truly grateful and will give this store a 5 star just because Paul has helped me so well and I understand it’s not the store’s fault but Best Buy corporate and call centers that made things so difficult for me. Called store asking if the carried a screen protector for my fairly new phone and was reassured yes and have in-stock. Drove to store to find out they don' even have nor carry! Super irritated and not even a apology!
Great store. A little understaffed at times, but right now it is hard to find good help and almost everywhere is understaffed. To Timmy Buhr, who said that he found an item in the wrong spot and they would not honor that price - do you really expect them to honor the prices of everything that customers put back in the wrong spot? lol It’s extremely ridiculous that you feel that way. Also, can you not read? You should always look at and compare the tag and the item that is on the shelf behind the tag. I can go into a store and move an item to a different spot and then claim that they should give me a $500 TV for $20 because it was in the wrong spot. Give me a break…
I was here to get a trade in on my galaxy s22 plus for the new iPhone 14 pro a few weeks ago and they said okay and half way towards the end of the transaction they said “oh we don’t do trade ins” I should’ve been told this from the very beginning. I sent the phone back 2 days later I’m not paying for a $1,000 phone when I have a $400 trade in which t-mobile across the street gave me. Would’ve saved me a lot of time and I would have just done it online which you guys supposedly can do it online but not in store, what is this? Won’t be trying to get any phone with any Best Buy again.
Bought a Playstation 5 in an online pre-sale, when I picked it up from the store, the box was severely damaged and I was then told nothing can be done out about it. So now I have paid full price for damaged merchandise with no options to make it right.
{Update 12/5 : Today I had an appointment #6 to get my two TVs hung and got a cancellation due to sick. I am not lowering due to 1 star because someone is sick - it’s that I don’t ever get a substitute or someone say we’re going to make this happen for you today regardless of our messed up geek squad. I’ll see if hello tech can get it done.}. I recently had a home built in Ankeny. As part of that home I bought 3 TVs Sonos arc and 6 tv mounts plus the total tech membership with the idea that geek squad would install all 6 TVs 3 I bought and 3 I brought with the move. This was over $5000. I moved in Oct 1 and geek squad installed 2 TVs plus Sonia arc on one day two more the following day. The last two were going above the bar and the tile backsplash was not done when I moved in. So I scheduled that out to middle of October when backsplash was done. 3rd party shows up and says he doesn’t have tools to find studs behind the tile so he’s going to store to get it should be installed yet today. Then I get cancellation notice. Then I call back and schedule for November 4. No one shows up. I call back and schedule for today Nov 10 and I get a call today from 3rd party saying they can’t install on tile and geek squad needs to do it. I have to call back and schedule a FOURTH appointment and need to make sure geek squad not the third party is doing this install on Nov 17. Let’s hope they get it right on the 4th try. The only reason I give 2 stars is the initial purchase and installs of first 4 TVs was very good. But waiting a month and calling over and over has worn me thin.
