We have become regulars at this store and love the staff. Bobby Joe in the lumbar area and Brian in paint have been so helpful every time we’ve come back with questions about products or do-it-yourself tasks. This store had helped us believe we could actually do tasks ourselves. We love it!

When we first entered the store there was approximately 8 employees standing at customer service in a “meeting” after searching the store for someone to help we finally located what we had came after. At the registers that are all self checkouts and one open for “pros” only as we were told we would have to use self checkout since we was not a contractor I asked about the military discount and was advised to look on their website which states they no longer do a in-store it has to be ordered on line. So sad to see how far down we have fallen that we can not help customers, can not check them out while the is no discount for having to ring up your own order and bag it if necessary and have to order on line if you want a whole 10% discount for serving this once proud nation? Shame on you Home Depot! You’ve lost my business.

Ankeny Iowa store prices are significantly higher than other Des Moines metro stores. $1000 difference on a patio set! $200 difference on a snow blower. Should have KCCI investigation team do a story on this! Ankeny residents, drive 10 miles to urbandale or west Des Moines store. Well worth it!

Bought a Whirlpool over the range microwave from Home Depot. They don't stock them so had to have it delivered. Of course, that is an extra charge. Found out if there are any issues not discovered within 48 hours of delivery, they will not return them. The store manager would do nothing to help me so now am stuck with a microwave that I cannot install because it is too tall for my opening. Be very careful

Heads up, in-store pickup has been relocated into lockers that sit outside, probably a good idea down in Florida but in Iowa winter it's not to great, especially if the order contains anything that is temp sensitive.

I had an item shipped to store and the locker pickup was super easy. I just tapped enter code and scanned the QR code that was emailed to me.

Worst Home Depot I've ever set foot in. Rude and they have not fulfilled my orders twice. They just cancel them instead of having to do the legwork when their inventory is erroneous. I don't shop here, I just pick up online orders since it's the closest store to Fort Dodge. I'll be going to Urbandale or Albert Lea going forward to pick up orders.

I am so not happy right now. Hubby picked out a beautiful tree for Christmas. We have had it for a week and I have had to clean up needles and bobbles up 6 times!!! It will not take water because it was already too far gone. Who do I need to see about a refund. I have broken glass ornaments because the tree RAINS needles to the floor.

Every time I come hear I get large orders 30+ sheets of plywood, sheetrock, ext Never do I get quick service. I always find my self having to stack it myself. Wear other locations are quicker to get the fork lift. And in the truck, fast. Not sure why this place runs slow.

Just had the move unprofessional encounter in Home Depot in Ankeny. This was in the garden center on 9/18/2022 at about 12:10pm so you can check to see who was working. There were initially two young men working. Systems must've went down for check out so a line of like 6 people occured. Then the one register that did work was having problems ringing the right sale number of a tile. So the lady behind her who was waiting got impatient. I was waiting for mulch to get brought up. The impatient lady then asked for a manager numerous times. 2 additional ladies came NOT managers to help out. Nothing was explained to this lady about the systems being down I over heard from the young man who called the other two ladies up. After the impatient lady left the young man sat there and mimicked the impatient lady in front of other customers. VERY UNPROFESSIONALLY. I explained to him he was being unprofessional and he could've prevented the whole situation by explaining better to the customers what was happening and giving alternate options such as going up front. Although I expect to be degraded after I left as well. The manager then showed up right before I left hope she got the full story of what happened. Gave two stars because he ended up being respectful to my face anyway after I told him he was disrespectful. Maybe there should be more customer communication or satisfaction trainings??
