It is definitely a well-stocked wine and beer store, but the deli counter is problematic. I've ordered sandwiches there many times and the counter staff's poor command of the English language means they often get things wrong. Also, they are extremely slow.
I’ve been here a few times and haven’t had a good experience. I haven’t tried any of the deli food so I cannot speak to that. The front cashier is so rude. The majority of the time she’s speaking on the phone while ringing you up. My most previous time she did not even offer a bag/box and I had gotten 4 different 4-packs. I proceeded to drop one of them in the parking lot on the way to the car. The beers are often not labeled with prices and many of them are overpriced. While the selection is large, I’ve had too many frustrating experiences when going here and take my money elsewhere now
Bethesda Market is a great Mom and Pop store. They have a wild section of wines and sakes to unique beers and IPAs. They also have a great deli in the back which serves great sandwiches both for breakfast or lunch. Definitely a must if you live or work in the area.
The food was okay … we ordered online after a long hike. We patiently waited and picked the food up 10 minutes after the pick up time from online. Which was fine, but I will say my Rueben was missing the pickles I ordered. No big deal … what really bothered me is we paid online and then the guy at the front register demanded to see our receipt before letting my husband or I leave the store … for a restaurant in a place with an abundance of food you’d think their customer service would be better.
The selection is fantastic but the beer prices are well above normal - even for a convenience store. And it can't be distributor pricing because the same stuff is available elsewhere for less.
It took a while to get my sandwich, though I was there just after noon. And the sandwich was ok - more bread than other ingredients. The craft beer selection looked quite extensive and I may need to go back just to go through the craft beer in more detail!
Better off going to Subway if you can’t wait 30 minutes for your sandwich. Good selection, but a little expensive. Food is good when you can get it. Edit to respond to the owner: I never said the food was bad - it’s actually pretty good. I said it took too long. You also have given away multiple wrong orders. I’m sorry you took personal offense to an honest review.
Absolutely wonderful beer selection. I brew my own and have used offerings from Bethesda market as the competition to beat. My wife however, loves wine. That's why this review is five stars. Both me and my wifecan shop at the same store.
Great sandwich for lunch after a long bike ride. I had the Ben Franklin which has a really nice flavor to it. Prices were reasonable and food was ready quickly. I appreciated the social distancing measures and everyone wore masks.
Lots of wine and beer but the owners and employees are not friendly.I went into the store to buy a special beer for a friend of mine from Scotland. I purchased the beer and ask them about it because it was not labeled with the price turned out it was $6 a bottle which I think is outrageous but I bought it because I needed a gift for my friend that he would enjoy. After the purchase was rung up, the owner of the shop shoved the bottles at me without even offering a bag to put them in to carry them out of the store which I thought was very rude. The selection of beer and wine is abundant but may be limited in as far as the origins of the wine. I would compare prices with other wine stores and make sure you're getting the best deal I'm not convinced that I did in this place.
