Big Lots

I always forget about Big Lots, but when I remember to go, I am always impressed. There is always something I will find that is just a ridiculously cheap price, too good to pass up. They have pretty reasonably priced furniture as well. You never know if they are going to have what you need, perhaps that is why I don't go all the time.

Awesome prices. Good variety. The people who work there are so helpful and nice. I feel really good about the store.

Was able to find what I was looking for. Staff very helpful and they even loaded my mattress for me.

They have tons of stuff from food to furniture. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I like the Christmas decorations for the variety but they also have a nice variety of summer, outdoor items.

I've been to this Big Lots several times and its never great, its Big Lots so expectations are low, today was THE WORST! It was a Saturday just before 3 PM with 1 employee on register, no big deal. I had a coupon for $2 off A certain dog food, they had it, I got in line with my dog food and other items, the cashier tired to scan the coupon, it won't scan so a 2nd employee comes to the register and tries to scan it with no success. We all stare at each other for a minute then the cashier contacts his manager in furniture of the walkie. She just yells "she's busy" no help offered. I stand at the register for 10 minutes and nothing is happening and he attempts to call the manager a few more times and she's offering no help. I tell the guy that I'll get out of line and he can help other customers while I wait for a manager... another 10 minutes and still no manager... so the female cashier attempts to run my coupon again and I ask if I can just go back to furniture and have the manager ring me up back there. She says yes so i take all my junk back there and the woman, sorry I don't remember her name but she's missing front teeth, calls me honey condescendingly about 60 times and says Big Lots doesn't take outside coupons. Ok... I have no idea why the not 1 but 2 register employees didn't know that but it was news to them. She also said that she's not the manager but the manager unloaded freight at 7 AM so she went home... whatever. Ol girl did nothing but act bothered and rude. Then I went back to the front registers and had to wait in a long line again stuck behind someone not buying anything but trading in change for dollar bills BUT you'll never guess, neither employee knew how to open the register without a transaction so another call went to the acting manager and we all had to wait while she took her sweet time getting up to the front. TERRIBLE TRAINING. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wish I could give 0 stars. A manager or an employee who is competent should be there at all times.
