Bing's Bakery

As famous as they are, I was disappointed in their customer service. I stopped in to ask some general questions about a wedding cake. I know it's the norm to set an appointment up for a consultation, but my mom and I went in to just get some information on what they could do, since our venue isn't local and we would have to transport it. Unfortunately, we had to wait about 15 minutes before we could even speak to who was in charge of wedding cakes. After that, she told us she couldn't sit down with us and that we would have to make an appointment with her, which would be okay, but then she told me we had to send her dates we were available and she would tell us when we would meet. All the other vendors I have worked with in the past have looked at their availability on the spot and offer me times to work with. I feel like you should have your availability for customers to make an appointment. Because of this, we have chosen to look elsewhere for our wedding cake.

I called in about an order on Thursday late afternoon and I needed to have a cake by Saturday for my son’s 1st birthday. I wasn’t able to come in to the store but explained exactly how I wanted it. I was nervous that it wasn’t going to get done right but when I went to pick it up I was astonished. It was better then I expected it to be and was delicious as well!

My mother loves this place. She always raves about the fruit tarts. I've always loved the fresh baked donuts and the Pecan Pralaine. They've been open since 1946 and have been Delaware's oldest bakery ever since it was originally named Fader's Bakery way way back in 1871. So roughly 145 years. They've been making everything from scratch for all of this time and they know what they're doing. Everything from Communion Cakes, Graduation Cakes, Wedding Cakes, you name it. I hope they'll be around for another 100 years.

Great place to come if you want good snacks or just occasional custom cakes. I've got plenty of cakes from this bakery from birthday cakes to my wedding cake. I'm always a happy customer and they make me feel important. They will always have business with me. They give great customer service and they will decorate a cake according to your needs.

This shop looks amazing. Meandered through the shop, the desserts all looked really good. It was honestly a tough choice to settle on anything specific. Honestly if I could try it all I would. We had three monster cookie, it was amazing, very sweet though.
