Really unnecessary stuff sold at ridiculous prices. The workers were friendly. For paper clips, I paid big money. I spent over $50 for the stuff I could buy for less than $10 online or elsewhere. But I am a tourist, so I have get ripped off somehow, and it happened to be here.
In all of my travels I have never found a place as interesting or unique as Black Ink. Every week, there is something new. Here are just a few things I've seen in the store: wind up tops, cocktail glasses, rubber bands, notepads, books, puzzles, writing utensils, bridal hooks for the horse, pencil cases, Japanese tea sets, bike repair kits, and much more. If you are looking to get a gift for someone who likes unusual and creative things, or you just want to find some funky tool that you didn't know you needed, this is the place to go.
One of my favorite places to visit in Cambridge. They always have new and exciting products every time I come in. Their items are cute, and there's something for everyone inside! If you need a last minute gift, this is the perfect place to go.
Visiting this shop is a bit like falling down Alice' rabbit hole. It is absolutely tiny, with a seemingly infinite selection of all manner of novelty, humor, or just intriguing items. A curated selection of uniqueness. One star off for the occasional items being sold with a much higher price-tags than elsewhere.
A cute little stationary shop with excellent cards and tons of quirky products perfect for gifting. Staff is friendly and helpful. Only drawback is the somewhat high prices. Astronaut ice cream is awesome.
Everything you never knew your needed/wanted. I'm not sure that I have ever seen such a collection of unique, creative, and bizarre items. The walls are literally lined with floor-to-ceiling shelves full of sundries and other creatively useful stuff. I would have bought so much more if I had more room in my luggage.
Cool store! Sweet little gifts for those quirky people in your life. I always enjoy seeing international toys & goods on this side of the pond. They have some Japanese goods that I would check out!
Is this not the most delightful store? Adorable curiosities, useful tools, and beyond adorn the tall shelves of Black Ink. I like getting bday cards here, but their toys and books are amazing as well. You didn't know you needed it until seeing it!
Located right in the heart of Harvard Square, Black Ink is a great spot to pick up that last minute Yankee Swap gift, housewarming gift or cute little trinket for yourself. This narrow little shop gets a lot of foot traffic, and during the summer months, that's not so bad, but during the winter it can feel a little claustrophobic. Everyone's shopping bags, big winter coats and make you feel like you're stuck inside a Ton-Ton. However, it's the best place to go in Cambridge if you want that designer typography book or cool set of glasses.
This is a really cool quite small shop that my mother told me about. It focuses on stationary and writing implements, but they also have a bunch of interesting things that are hard to describe as anything but miscellaneous. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area.
