This was so good! The spicy chicken sandwich is among one of the best I’ve ever had. I could’ve done without the wings which were cooked well but needed more sauce. The pulled pork sandwich was average. I was really surprised by how good the masked potatoes were and I am usually not a fan of mashed potatoes. I would go back just for the spicy chicken sandwich!
Some of the best BBQ I've had! The three of us with 2 of my sons each bought something different so we could sample many items. The macaroni and cheese was okay and everything else was awesome! Very fair pricing! The male cashier could have been more personable, but the great food kept it at 5 stars for us!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
This is an order at the counter, have food brought to you BBQ restaurant with limited seating inside but a ton of covered patio seating outside. To-go orders and pickups are at a separate table outside which helps prevent too much crowding. The food came out quickly and was very good, even the lean brisket was juicy and flavorful. Nachos came with pulled pork today there's a meat of the day for nachos and that was an excellent combo. There's a little bit of parking outside but it isn't too hard to find street parking if needed but watch out for construction. The staff are friendly and helpful. Blue Oak does thankfully comply with city requirements for Covid-19 protective measures, which currently include indoor masking and vaccination/negative test for indoor seating.
Was looking for something other than traditional Cajun food in NOLA. I'm not big on BBQ so this was a good choice since I don't eat it often. Hands down, probably the best bbq I've ever had. Incredible. The Brussels were out of this world! A must if you're in NOLA.
The best happy hour! I love their margaritas and mini nachos! My husband loves their wings. Their patio is great. So chill and great vibes. When it’s not happy hour we love their brisket plate with the crispy Brussels sprouts and beans! But you can’t go wrong with any option here!
Good BBQ place! I usually don't like brisket but this one was delicious. The potato salad was phenomenal and the ribs were perfectly done. We also had the smoked turkey sandwich and it was so yummy. The dill cream cheese was so tasty!
My first time getting BBQ in Louisiana! Like was a breeze, though the parking was a little difficult. Staff was very friendly and clearly believes in making a connection with customers. Seating options were great, and the outdoor area had a fun ambiance. Food was above-average, I just wish they had each of their speciality sauces on the tables there were a couple missing.
Delicious authentic no frills BBQ. Very surprised to have come across this place on the way back to the city from the park. Food relatively priced, seasoned and prepared. I got the Doobin Loobin sandwich with chopped brisket and smoked sausage with side of slaw. The star of the meal was actually the super juicy pull off the bone ribs! Honestly really good BBQ that fares better in the northeast! Will gladly come back again
Parking is limited to street parking. Walk in and stand in line to order. I got the brisket plate sliced with brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese. I think they laced those sprouts with something because they were so freaking good. Service was good, employees were friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. There are fans going with misters outside. I look forward to coming back.
Was excited to try this place and went for lunch. It's your standard stand-in-line, order at the counter, and then have a seat BBQ joint. Seating is about half indoor and half outdoor. The food was pretty good ribs, turkey, & chicken combo, especially the must try garlic Mac & Cheese. I'd rate the ribs the highest. The side special of the day was green bean casserole; however, it wasn't going to be ready until later. I'd like to give 5/5 except the staff were almost rude. Call me ol' fashion but for the price - I'd like to feel at least welcomed rather than a burden especially since there isn't even table sevice. Will go back for the food with hopes of encountering better attitudes next time.
