Great café! The coffee was so yummy. I ordered the flat white. I loved the atmosphere and music. The place has big windows all around, sitting in the sunlight during lunchtime is amazing. They require your vaccine card if you are dining in.
My brother first introduced me to Bluestone Lane in NYC many years ago so I was thrilled to see that they had locations in DC! First of all, their cold brew is incredible. I loved it so much that I wished I could get a gallon to take home with me I live half way across the country where there are no locations. As I was savoring my cold brew, I ordered the Breakfast Bowl. Everything about it was perfect. To top it off, the people working there were so nice! The atmosphere is great too— inside and out. They have a lovely patio but it was too hot the day when I was there so I dined inside, which was also lovely.
We stopped at around 3 pm so the cafe was pretty empty. We only wanted coffee and I didn’t realize it was all sit down type of restaurant. It turned out to be very nice. Lattes were delicious and served in cute blue mugs. Service was great. The only problem is since it was near closing, they were cleaning the place and it smelled like strong chemical.
I had a nice lunch and latte here. The lunch was the warm chicken and ancient grain bowl that was very good. It came with lentils, onion, Brussel sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese, spicy chicken and a poached egg. Mixed together it was very flavorful. The latte was a simple latte with oat milk. If you like flavored latte the only flavor they have is vanilla. It’s a very modern, industrial setting. Good find.
Very delicious place to eat, work, and study! The environment is very well design. The decor is amazing. The food, phenomenal. The food tasted so well I can’t describe it. Everything was full of flavor. I’ve never tasted a banana bread like this. It literally melted my face! The chicken wrap tasted very good. The kale was crunchy, and the yogurt gave it a unique taste that made it more enjoyable. To wash it all down, an iced shake. Talk about a great way to end it all. I would go back just for this on a hot day. The words aren’t enough to express, but I highly recommend coming to this place. I know I will definitely be back!
I liked the food. Sorry loved it. It was so unique and different from other places and for that I would have give it five. However there are and were bunch of issues. their service system is really bad and stuck with covid no contact style. You’ll scan the bar code, which takes you to the website with low quality pics. You have limited options to modify your food like only changing the bread type! Then you have to pay and tip in advanced which doesn’t make any sense and is really time consuming! During our visit since there was no specific waiteress there was an error in our order so I asked the fist person that I saw, it took her a while so I asked the second and third person, when I was almost finishes with my food they brought me 3 different food that they originally missed! Obviously I didn’t need that any more as I was finished! Also it showed me there is no communication among them. There is also only one restroom for such a big place which wasn’t really clean and you had to wait like 20 min in line! I give it 4 just because I really enjoyed the food. Otherwise the experience would have been more like 2-3.
This is one of the few brunches I’ve had and thought “this is better than anything I would’ve made at home!” Most of the menu options are clean and healthy yet full of variety. If you come with a group, I recommend everyone gets their own dish, then order the banana bread for the table this is what we did. Everything was amaaazing and beautiful, with plenty of options for the gluten-free/vegetarian people. Definitely make a reservation in advance if you plan to come during the weekend. Otherwise, wait time can be around 1 hr.
This place is amazing. Really enjoyed the experience and getting to try this flavorful dish. The latte and flat white are awesome too. Should try if you’re around the area! You order everything on your own through a QR code which makes it easier too. P.s. I put the avocado smash on the toast, so don’t mind the mess!
I've seen several Bluestone Lane Coffee shops around DC, but came across their cafe in West End recently. Same delicious coffee, but with an extended menu for breakfast and lunch. Located next to the public library, this is a great morning spot to make for breakfast or brunch. Their iced lattes are always a hit, and my go to is iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Perfect balance of sweetness for me without being too overpowering. There are kiosks inside to order from yourself, and within a couple minutes my drink was ready. I hope to come back and dine in next time to try their food!
The food was good. We had to sit outside cause it was tables of 2 or 4 and I came as a party of 3 so there wasn’t a big enough table inside. They also have you tip and pay ahead when you order cause it’s through their app which is so glitchy. The food to me is what made this 3 stars and not 4 or a 5. The service was not great.
