Boathouse - John's Landing Apartments

Living at Boathouse Apartments is a wonderful experience. The welcoming lobby with beautiful appointments, treats for our four-legged residents and friendly, helpful staff, create a homey atmosphere of safety and security. It feels like waking up on vacation everyday with the stunning view of Mt. Hood from the community area and my balcony, amenities of a fire pit and 24/7 delicious coffee bar. I am so grateful to call Boathouse Apartments "Home".

I really enjoy living at the Boathouse. I have been here for over three years and my apartment condition is great, any maintenance issues are responded to so quickly, and Bill who manages the building is so friendly and welcoming and helpful. Five stars.

My stay at the Boathouse was exceptional during my yearlong lease in 2023-2024. Having lived in other rental situations, I have to emphasize that this management team stands out for their exceptional interaction with residents. Bill Brantley goes above and beyond to address any concerns or questions. His cheerful greetings and friendly attitude created a welcoming atmosphere whenever residents passed by the front office. He consistently checked in with us and handled everything from missing packages to maintenance issues with professionalism and a fun, uplifting demeanor. Somedays he seemed to be everywhere too, attending to the coffee machine, attending to the package lockers, or polishing the glass on the front door! Ashley Castañeda was also fantastic, promptly responding to any inquiries with warmth and efficiency. The maintenance crew led by Michael were friendly and efficient, keeping the facilities in excellent condition, always ensuring a clean and comfortable environment. There were cleaning staff too, but I rarely ever saw them because they obviously cleaned during low resident traffic hours. The residents are diverse in demographics and pets, with a polite and friendly community vibe, something to look forward to coming home to, adding to the great location. The community room and connected landscaped balcony with BBQ grills overlooking the river and Mt Hood views is a fantastic asset. Bus stop is just a walk to the corner, a few tasty cafes and restaurants within walking distance, and the OHSU area is also close by. I loved getting my dose of birds, trees, flowers - nature - walking the waterfront all the way downtown, the gym was never overcrowded, and there are kayaks to rent on days off. The waterfront location is beautiful, and combined with the warm and engaging staff, it made my stay at the Boathouse truly wonderful. The only little minus is that the location is not near a grocery store, but with grocery deliveries becoming more the norm, it is a small issue. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a positive and supportive living experience in Portland.

The team of Bill, Ashley, Michael and Jesse have made our living here such a pleasure. The efficiency, care and responsiveness by the entire team is impeccable! Life is where you make a home and we couldn’t ask for a better place to live it.

My husband and I lived at the Boathouse while we were renovating our house. It was an absolutely lovely experience! We would whole heartedly recommend it. They do a great job prioritize the residents, especially Bill and Ashley! They made it feel like a home! Thank you for a great experience!

We have lived here 4-5 years. The location is great, close access for walkers, cyclist and runners to parks, waterfront and local neighborhood shops. Property management has changed multiple times throughout the years. With each change, question for management are their purpose and values. In regards to staff, Ashley, Bill & Silvestre are all that residents could hope for. They are punctual, kind, and caring towards Boathouse and all who live within. They add warmth and are attentive when it comes to making Boathouse an inviting place to call home.

We have been living at Boathouse for about five months, and we are so happy to call this community our home! Ashley and Bill have been incredible to work with! Communication and resident support have been unparalleled, and responsiveness to our maintenance needs have exceeded our expectations. Thank you for making this community so warm and inviting! Bill was so helpful during the move in process! And the Boathouse in general is wonderful place to live; the location is beautiful and the other tenants are so kind.

After living in SFHs for over 20 years, I was a little nervous about living in an apartment again. But I’ve lived here for 1.5 years and I love it. It’s so quiet in my apartment that I forget I have neighbors. Yet the ones I’ve met have become some of my closest friends. The river views are amazing and I savor the sunrise over the water every morning. The amenities - gym, community room, and especially the river deck, are a huge bonus. The property managers are attentive, friendly and all around amazing. Same with the maintenance crew. Very happy with my decision to live here.

Moving to The Boathouse was the best decision we could’ve made. The amenities are nice but the neighborhood is amazing. It’s so quiet and peaceful. Nothing beats being able to walk outside and have a nice trail by the waterfront. So far our experience with management and maintenance has been great. They take time to respond but it’s not an unreasonable amount of time. The maintenance crew is really nice and kind and do a great job.
