It was my first time there. My brother and I took our mother to this restaurant because she loves seafood. We were all satisfied. The menu is large with lots of choices to choose from and different sauces. The food speaks for itself. Be mindful, you are not coming here to be classy, get ready to put on a bib and some glove to enjoy your meal and eat with your hands. Can't wait to come back again. And don't forget to ask for Johnny, he was a great server.
We went here last night for the first time and was not disappointed. The parking wasn't too bad as we pulled up to the spot. There was no wait time, we were seated as we walked in. Our waiter Justin was friendly and attentive. There is only one bathroom with one toilet for men and woman, just putting that out there. The food was awesome, we started with a couple appetizers and i must say the crab cakes are amazing and full of meat. The shrimp were juicy and big. The snow crab legs and lobster was on point as well. The prices weren't too bad for a seafood restaurant in the city. If your on the fence about visiting. Do it.
I will nnneevvverrrrrr come back here. First off we are seated in the back next to some clothing and apperantly it belonged to the customer next to us, not the restaurant fault, but in these times it's an indication that we were too close, plus they started coughing like crazy and things got uncomfortable right off the bat. But as for the food, this place is around the same as others, price wise but the food quality is far from any other place like The Boil or Claw Daddy's. They serve you in a silver pot and we noticed the seafood is cold and I mean left overs in your fridge type of cold. The ginger ale was flat so we told the server and he replaced it with cranberry juice, which wasn't any better. The salmon was bland and also cold and the sides were also cold. Maybe they rushed things or had an off day, but paying the amount they charge for this $32 snow crabs and $22 for the salmon plus $8 for a deluxe that consists of noodles and broccoli and for that you're expecting some tasty hot or at least room temp food. We told the waiter and he contacted the manager and they discounted us for the inconvenience, thank you, but I will not be coming here again.
Making their way back due to COVID-19. Limited bar options, reluctant to open indoors despite 25% occupancy which could be a good thing due to adequate sidewalk and street side arrangement. In the past the crab boil is what you want. Let’s see how this plays out.
Decent prices and great food, I usually order 1/2 lb of crab at other spots not knowing if I’ll enjoy the food or not but I decided to order 1 lb of crab and I was so surprised by how much I liked it. The wine selection is great as well, thanks for the amazing food and great service !
The Five Pound Boil Boilery Signature dish was incredibly delicious and savory.
It had really good and would serve you by the pound. Although they seem to be a bit expensive, its worth it. They are brand new. I got the fried shrimp with fries. Filled me up completely.
Food was delicious. Definitely try the grilled oysters and the staff was nice!!
The food was good as well as the atmosphere music I will definitely be back.
The website for this restaurant looks 10x better than the reality. The interior is kind of dark and dated. I love cocktails and my partner is a chef. We were hoping to try a new spot for oysters and dinner. They didn’t have a cocktail/drink menu and unfortunately only had one type of East coast oyster. The staff was nice enough, but it was not at all what we were expecting. It just felt a little awkward. We ended up having the wings and I will say they were good. Crispy and well seasoned. After that we headed over to The Mermaid Inn.
