First time here trying Indian food. Incredibly delicious I ate extremely fast, it was so good! They also have an entire section for a vegan menu, and they have Indian beers as well. Many different options on the menu including lamb, chicken, and shrimp. Have a great patio outside so you can people watch. Definitely coming back to this place! We found that it was much cooler, temperature wise, to sit outside than on the inside where it was warmer. They also have small plates if you'd rather share with someone, as well as a ton of sides. I also overdosed on the delicious naan bread as it was straight out of the oven, toasty, and flavorful!
Sadly, this charming, delightful restaurant is now closed. It was the victim of the seemingly-endless construction in Cherry Creek North generally... and the multi-use high-rise right next door, in particular. Here’s what I wrote back when Bombay Clay Oven was still open: “My family and I love to visit Bombay Clay Oven for special occasions. We also enjoy taking out-of-town friends to this jewel of a restaurant and our guests are always quite impressed. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. I have had tikka masala and vindaloo dishes and found both styles to be superb. The pakoras, naan, and samosas are all quite delicious, too.“ Again, it is a great loss that this restaurant is no longer in operation. Fortunately, their fast-casual sister operation, Saucy Bombay, remains open and offers many of the same wonderful dishes to customers.
Relaxing atmosphere and decor paired with friendly, speedy service and delicious food! Lunch buffet was on the smaller size, but plenty satisfying. I do not eat meat, and there were plenty of vegetarian entrees on the buffet: one stew, a chickpea sauce, a spinach dish, and a mix veggie korma sauce plus a few vegetarian side dishes. The buffet is quite inexpensive at $10.99 per person. I will definitely be back!
Ordered the lamb korma and chai tea which was delicious and flavorful. Location is perfect; in the middle of Cherry Creek Shopping District. The inside decor of the restaurant was really great. Had a classy feel to it. Highly recommend this place. There's also parking in the back of the restaurant
It was quiet and nice to sit and talk in the booth. We had good service and there was an authentic sitar player.
We came to Bombay Clay Oven for Valentines Days 2018 and had the prix fixe multi course special. While the service did start off a bit slow we found out later that they were a bit short-staffed so I will not take off any points for that since the food was delicious. We started off with some refreshing chi tea and then moved on to the apps as the food started rolling out quickly. I don't normally like salad but this one was tasty and after that the lover's oyster bisque was yummy even though I don't normally like coconut milk. The entree was actually like 3 courses in 1 with a shrimp dish, a chicken dish and a rack of lamb. Things finished up with a mango mouse and then a nice glass of something to "get us in the mood" followed by a very nice conversation with the owner Marshall. This is my first time at Bombay Clay Oven and we will definitely be back again. BTW, the service did improve once the food started rolling out and the music provided by Rahm who we were told has been doing this for 25+ years was a nice extra touch. I think our server's name was Avery but don't hold me to it. Overall, recommended...
I am lucky Bombay Clay Oven is close to my office, so I get to go there often. Food is reliably great and the owner is there eager to check in to make sure we are satisfied. With all the construction in Cherry Creek North parking can be a pain, but I love this place. And it's not too hard to get a place to park. They've worked hard to stay consistent and good, and they've done it.
My Husband and I went to Bombay Clay Oven on a dinner date on 6/13/15. I ordered a spicy dish with chicken. Almost half way through my dish I bit into a bad piece of chicken. I immediately spit it into my napkin and notified the waiter. The waiter apologized and asked why I thought the chicken was bad and how it tasted, He asked if I would like a different dish but at this point I had lost my appetite. The waiter spoke to the manager and returned to our table once again and questioned why I thought the chicken tasted bad. The manager never came over to the table despite being at the bar within view. The bill came at full price minus my yogurt drink. I already had a buy one get one coupon but the fact that the manager did not even offer to discount the ticket based on the bad chicken was very off putting. We will not eat at Bombay Clay Oven again.
This was the perfect setting for our end-of-the-year team banquet of 40+ people. The food was delicious, the space was comfortable, and coordinating the event with the owners was a breeze. The restaurant was able to create a menu based on our price point and was prepared with attentive wait-staff. I am already looking forward to coming back here with the family!
Looked for places in Denver where you can sit on pillows. Loved it. Atmosphere, service, food, music... Great. And I am an atmosphere snob... I don't hear very well so having the "booth" with pillows and curtains helped a lot. Not very noisy. I know nothing of Indian cuisine so getting service minded and easy to understand guidance was appreciated. Fantastic sauces.
