Saw this place and had to try it, it looks so beautiful inside and out. The food was pretty good too. Highly recommend the lobster gratin, roasted carrots and croquettes. The service was good, they didn’t have the bottle of wine we ordered off the menu which was a bummer. Definitely a good place, would come back and try other menu items.
Went for a date night with my wife and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We made a reservation but it wasn’t super busy for a Friday night. The drinks were delicious, really good espresso martinis including a bourbon-based version. Food: - tuna carpaccio: on par with expectations, fresh, tasty, recommend. - beef tartare: this dish in general isn’t my favorite, but my wife who enjoys it said it was top-tier. - mezze: pretty good, it was more unique than mezze at Mediterranean places, not my favorite but not bad. - croquettes: DELICIOUS, my favorite dish of the night. - shrimp ceviche: also very good, highly recommend - burger: they actually cooked it properly when we requested rare which has not been happening for us recently at other restaurants. Burger was very good and we were glad we got it. My wife and I split everything which is what I would recommend so you can taste a little bit of everything. Our waiter was very attentive, we always had water I tend to drink a lot of it, they timed the serving really well for us splitting the dishes. Highly recommend this place. Great for a date night with a really nice vibe and well chosen decor.
The main course was subpar and below expectations. They were out of two cocktails on a busy Thursday night. The service was also inconsistent. I made a reservation in the chandelier room, only to find out it’s closed for the day when I showed up. One positive - the mezze appetizer was great. We spent $200+ for a dinner for two. Your money could be spent better elsewhere with better service. Overall, I would not recommend. Vegetarian options: One vegetarian option on the main course menu - a sub par, disappointing orecchiette pasta
3 stars for food because I have had, and am sure I can easily find, better pasta elsewhere. It was nowhere near bad but it was nothing special. The chicken was good, but nothing I’m going to be craving anytime soon. As for the ceviche… I knew I shouldn’t expect anything mind-blowing. But… the shrimp was overcooked and the lime juice was just mildly salty water. My drink was weak too but maybe that’s what I get for ordering a drink that’s not on the menu. Like $20 for 2 drops of alcohol. Oh, but the chocolate cake is a must. THAT, I do and will miss. 4 stars for service because we had 2 waiters and one didn’t check in on us as much but got upset when the other one stepped in. 4 stars for atmosphere because it’s such a cute spot, they could’ve gone so far with an interior/location like that but instead they’re playing 2010s pop at what looks like and is priced as a higher end place. Qué… TLDR; cute date spot, but make them pay so you don’t have to stay up at night justifying spending so much on meh food to yourself.
It’s a cute spot by the village, inside there are two sessions of seating and there’s a huge garden outside, the space inside is a bit loud, everyone was screaming I can barely hear anything from my 6 people table. Definitely not a place if you want a nice chill night to have conversation. The food choice is a bit limited. I had ASPAO which is a seafood soup with a little bit of the rice. I only recommend if you like soup and is hungry. There’s a lot of broth but not a lot of seafood, half lobster on top is pretty small, either the clam or mussel still had sand so it was unpleasant when you bite on it. I don’t recommend because for how much seafood is has, $39 is pretty high. Weird thing is that they charge credit card fee on the customer that’s almost 4% that’s a bit ridiculous. All these adds up. With 8% tax 4 cc charge and 20% tip, you have to pay basically 32% on top of the price listed. That’s 1/3 of the meal. Not to mention that waiter forgot our wine refill order had to ask again.
Great service and great ambience, but the food was all a disappointment except the fried artichokes. Recommended meatballs were very meh, came out cold. Was shocked by the size of the oysters served considering the price. Cocktails were great.
Buzzy atmosphere, good food, and a delightful downstairs speakeasy all combine to make Saint AKA Brasserie Saint Marc a happening dinner spot in the East Village! Food was good, if a little overpriced especially the seafood tower, and the ingredients all tasted fresh. Service was slow. Seemed like we were forgotten about and took 30+ minutes to get a drink. To the restaurant’s credit, they gave our entire group a round of bubbly wine as a mea culpa at the end of the meal. Also the ambiance was cool, but a bit loud. So 4 stars overall 4.3/5 in my book, but still a pleasant experience.
I VERY HIGHLY recommend SAINT!!! This restaurant/speakeasy was absolutely amazing and a vibe! The food and drinks were the best I've had on my weekend stay in NY, and yes nicely priced but it's worth the whole experience, music, amazing service. The owner Dennis is Everything.
Food is great highly recommend the burrata, cocktails were great my husband loved the bourbon butter cocktail, service is great, my only con is the lighting is a little too bright. It would be more a vibe if lights were dim. Otherwise loved it..
Such a nice spot for drinks and dinner. The food is amazing! Also, rare and appreciated in NY, you can hear your guests talk! The atmosphere is so special and intimate, while lively. The manager is too!Food: 5/5
