This is an odd and difficult review. You can't leave half stars on Google, otherwise this would be 4.5. Don't want to leave 4, 5 it is. The beer, excellent. The Winter Lager is better than the Boston brand version. Camping Beer is amazing. Was so good brought 4 home. Food we had was great. Had their version of a Smash Burger. The one thing I'd like additional would be pickle slices. One thing I NEED on a burger... MUSTARD! There was none available. That made it a 3 star meal LOL. Also, you have to serve yourself. Which is fine. For the great pricing on the burger and fries, I'll carry my food. And the fries...incredible to me. Bartenders. Friendly, helpful and thoughtful. I ordered a beer that came in a can. Bartender poured it in the glass and handed me the can because there was a splash left. I have never experienced that in 35 years of going to bars. Definitely a good stop and will be back.
Yet another great craft beer place! We went there for dinner and the smash burger plus the spicy chicken sandwich did not disappoint. Great fries too! And the beers are also very good - lots of them on tap with a nice variety of IPAs, lagers and stouts, so everybody should find something they like. For me, it's the Cloud 19 IPA....
I had a good brewery experience stopping by for a few hours before my friends arrived in Detroit. Bartender was super nice and gave me some recommendations. The beers were good not great but I really liked the Yumtown which was almost like a Shandy. I was a little letdown by the food. It’s probably a little my fault for getting the most boring thing on the menu but I needed something healthy. The black bean veggie bowl was almost entirely rice. Not much roasted veggies. Honestly I think it was basically steamed broccoli. For $16, it was a poor value and bland. Black beans and veggies aren’t even expensive. But all in all I would go back because the service was so good and the beers were solid. I just probably wouldn’t eat. There is so much space I could see it being an awesome place to spend a few hours with friends
We had a great experience, although quick. This place is just a block from the bus stop, so we stopped on our way from the bus to the airport. Beer was great. Only bummer is the website is not updated to inform customers of the food situation. We were hoping for lunch for the kids. They did offer a nice charcuterie to go with a beer. My only suggestion would be offer a few more bar snacks, like even a grab and go mix and match type situation. Or, find some local dips and snacks to sell.
Awesome brewery with awesome vibes. If you’re looking for a good variety a beers that all taste great go to Brew Detroit. They have a great selection of beers outside of the typical IPAs. The Yumtown is so unique, something Ive never had! John the bartender is top notch - friendly and knowledgeable. Cheers to the staff at Brew Detroit!
I originally discovered Brew Detroit while strolling the aisles of Total Wine looking for a coffee stout to write home about...and I'll write home and to anyone about the Cold Brew Detroit Stout. The ode to Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company Motor City blend is sensational. Not only is Brew Detroit true to the beer, but they are true to the city. The eccentric nature of the decor is worth noting...from the octopus mural to the massive chalk board walls by the shuffle board table, the vibe is fully encompassing of the Motor City genre and a reflection of ingenuity. I appreciate the large central bar and attentive staff. Looking for a great pizza? Try The Joe. It's has some heat with the chili flakes!
Very nice place but needs more beers. I can buy everything they have on tap at Kroger. I like to drink beer that I can't buy at local stores.
Great food, beer and even better service. The bar tenders are top notch and very knowledgeable! Plenty of big TVs for watching football, hockey, soccer etc. Always has the relevant games playing. Plus multiple TVs upstairs if you have a bigger group
So grateful to find a bar near downtown that is open till 11:00. Especially on a Saturday night. After going on the night of the 17th, I wanted to reflect because we had such a good experience, me and my friends. The bartender was incredibly kind, knowledgeable about the brews, and made it simple to understand where the games were located.
I’m a corporate pilot and travel all over the United States. I find local breweries in every city. My wife traveled with me on this particular trip and we visited 4 breweries in one day. Didn’t care for the vibe. Service was impersonal. Beer was ok. Every other brewery was vibrant, inviting, and staff was super friendly. This place missed the mark on all three accounts.
