Today in Hillsborough at 2:45 PM, I witnessed one of their employees waiting to make a turn at Hillsborough Road and Route 206 South in heavy traffic, while the DRIVER WAS ON HIS CELL PHONE!!! I called the BWDSand left a message letting them know about this, and received a call back about fifteen minutes later. It was not the owner, but another "instructor", who had heard my message, and wanted to explain to me why the employee was not complying with the law by using a hands-free device. His story? "It was an emergency, he said. " I needed to contact him and speak with him immediately". I asked this gentleman if breaking the law in heavy volume traffic was the norm when working for a driving school, and excuses flowed fast and furious. " How can I be sure that you're on a hands-free device right now"?, he asked me, swiftly deflecting from the issue at hand. I explained to him, once again the irony of a car, with a instructor talking on a cell phone , NON HANDS FREE, with a HUGE DRIVING SCHOOL SIGN FLASHING ATOP THEIR INSTRUCTIONAL vehicle. No, he didn't. He said the instructor, a young man, could not pull over to take the call, in this emergency, even in violation of NJ State Law. So, if ever deciding to bring your young adults or soon-to-be-licensed family members to BWDS, read this review closely, and remember that the distracted driver that might kill or injure your newly-licensed driver, just might be the one who "instructed" them...They do not teach young men and women to pull over to answer the phone in case of an emergency, they tell them that it's OK to BREAK THE LAW if it's an emergency.
