We've been sending our 4 year old daughter to Bright Horizons Rosslyn since she was 4 months old, with a 1.5 year hiatus due to Covid. Upon our return to Bright Horizons this past spring, we have been beyond impressed with the care our daughter has received, the communication between teachers and parents, cleanliness of the school, and hours of operation. A few standouts for us: 1. Communication - emails, phone calls, updates given at drop/pick up are organized, concise and easy on the parents. We receive many pictures each day and real time updates/notes through their app and are kept up to speed by the leadership staff in terms of forms to be filled out, etc. End of day narrative is tailored to our daughter's day and it's comforting to know that teachers can understand a child's individual needs and preferences. 2. Curriculum & care - the curriculum for each day/week is impressive, often follows a theme and varies day to day, and of course by age. Under the care of the team at Bright Horizons, daughter has grown in her language, writing, critical thinking, curiosity, socialization and more. The staff makes learning fun with some time for free play and outdoor play as well. Teachers and leadership are smart, kind, compassionate and cheerful in our experience. 3. Cleanliness - We have been so impressed with the cleanliness of the school, protocols around meal preparation, hand-washing, masking when relevant exclusions from attendance due to illness, cleanliness in the classrooms, etc. The center is neat, organized, as are the classrooms. Better than my own house : If you're looking for a pre-school/daycare setting, I would not hesitate to consider Bright Horizon's Rosslyn in your search.
I love having our daughter at Bright Horizons! The staff and leadership are, smart, wonderful and caring. The center is so nice, and clean. They have an amazing curriculum. The other day when i took my daughter in late after a dentist visit the class was listening to Greek music and using paper shapes to build a Parthenon. They travel all around the world:
I feel extremely lucky to have found this daycare center for my child. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group of teachers and staff for my little one’s very first daycare experience. The teachers are patient, nurturing, and accommodating, while everyone else at the center are kind, professional and welcoming. The student to teacher ratio I think is just right - I find within the classroom a healthy balance of individual attention and peer interaction and socialization. My child’s who started going to BH in Rosslyn just two months ago vocabulary is already growing by leaps and bounds. Definitely an A++ if I had to put a grade to this center.
The center is a warm and welcoming place with dedicated and highly-educated and extensively-trained staff. This is a tight-knit community that excels at being inclusive of all. The teachers here are creative, compassionate, and create great partnerships with the children and families. I've enjoyed working here and it's the first place where I've felt adequately supported and appreciated in my role.
This location of Bright Horizons is one of two Bright Horizons locations my wife and I feel decent about leaving our daughter at the other is in Georgetown. At the risk of sounding like complete snobs, we have a nanny during the week, but use Bright Horizons back up care through our work in case our nanny is sick or on vacation. Here are the pros and cons of this location: Pros: - It's cleaner than other locations and much more organized in each classroom. Both times we've used it, the front desk experience has been odd, but once you're in the classroom, they are organized. - The staff are more engaged, friendly, and competent. They are the type of people you'd want to take care of your child. -The classes are capped so there isn't a flood of children allowing more attention to be given to your loved one. Cons: - If your child is quieter, it's easier to get lost in the pack. This isn't a Bright Horizons issue, but a daycare issues. It may socialize your kid, but for newborn babies, it's easy to get lost. If you're in a bind, this is a great option for back up daycare.
Wonderful center. The staff is very warm and well trained. It is very clean and they serve nutritious meals. The structured curriculum is perfect and always age appropriate. My special needs daughter is in Ms. Tiana and Ms. Alyssa's class and she absolutely loves her teachers. They work very well with her therapist to ensure she is offered the least restrictive environment and the best opportunity to thrive. I highly recommend this center!!!
