I have been a continuous patient for over 30 years. Most of that time with Dr Flatt. I have spent thousands of dollars on medical care and have had countless appointments over the years. After Dr Flatt retired Dr Jackie Shipley took over as my primary care physician. Apparently I missed an appointment with Dr Shipley last month. It was the only time I failed to keep an appointment.I didn't actually know I had an appointment because they made the appointment with my wife! As punishment for missing the appointment Dr "Jackie", refused to grant me a courtesy signature on a form I need to get a set of hearing aids! What kind of doctor does that? Especially to a patient who has been with them from the beginning. Tired of the conveyor belt service you get here and tired of a doctor that doesn't want to earn her money!
I had the worst experience with this facility today. I went in for a sore throat and when the nurse came in she asked why I was even there, she didn’t do any vitals on me and was just very unprofessional! The doctor then came in and was also very rude and said only a few thing’s and then said that I can’t come back and if I do when they pull my name they will refuse me service due too my mental status! Very unprofessional and Unacceptable!!!!!!
Everytime I go in the ladies up front are so helpful and caring. The drs there are pretty awesome too. They take good care of my asthma issues and really anything else u need they will help!
Nursing Practitioner on duty Misdiagnosed me!! Felt much worse the next day so ended up going to Unitypoint Urgent care where I was diagnosed and treated properly with having Influenza A. After I told Broadlawns of my heart condition and they clearly knew my blood pressure was elevated upon arrival they should of spent more time and took it more seriously. Unfortunately because of their inexperienced Practitioner I am much worse and have even higher blood pressure now. Will never return to Broadlawns for care ever again!!
I visit the urgent care on the 27 of January and with a rash and felling bad for a week and all the women doctor told me after just taking a exray not even listen to the chest or looking at me told me if get worse go to er.she came in and sat down and said it.the nurse was more concerned.

Friday had a 915 appointment got there 20 minutes early to check in waited 45 minutes to be seen to find out the receptionist did not complete my check-in so they wanted to reschedule me it took almost 2 weeks to be seen in the first place
My first time here and I was in and out very quickly. Staff was very polite and sociable. Dr. Was very nice and easy to talk to.
Sign says closes at 7 p.m. I get here at 6:24 only to have the doors completely shut and the 2 front desks ladies look at me and ignore me just to go back to eating.
I can only describe this place as predatory, dismissive, and rude. Earlier this summer, I made a road trip to Iowa with a friend to visit family. The visit was postponed due to symptoms that felt like COVID, so I held off and decided to exercise precaution and get tested. My insurance listed this location as an approved facility to get tested, so I went. I asked the lady at the front desk if they were doing tests. After confirming this, I gave her my insurance card and she immediately became dismissive and rude to me claiming that I was wrong and they don't accept it. My friend paid $115 out of pocket for his initial COVID test, and was reimbursed by his insurance. Weeks later, he tells me they charged him an extra $200+ for "service charges" that he wasn't made aware of when he arrived. He only received a COVID test from a nurse, but in the end, they attempted to rob him of over $500 for a procedure that took less than 10 minutes for a nurse to complete. Overall, this place is pure evil in my eyes. There's no excuse for how I was treated, and how people who are actually treated are billed. Avoid this location at all costs. They prey on the poor and misinformed. Shame on Broadlawns.
