First and foremost, let me say that we had a good experience despite the chaos happening around us. They had ONE server for the whole restaurant and she tried her best to get to everyone. There was a gentleman helping her when he could but still, two people for an entire restaurant is ludicrous! Now to the food. Broadway Pizza is a Memphis staple. A lot of people don't realize it, but they have so much more than just pizza! My favorite meal there is the catfish/spaghetti combo! They fry catfish better than some catfish joints! All in all, we had a good time and left full as usual. But, sheesh!! Get those people some help!!
Food was amazing we ordered fried green tomatoes, Hawaiian pizza, pink lemonade, and a soda drink.....i don't remember what the hubs ordered and the experience was great until the owner started screaming across the restaurant at the only gentleman keeping the whole front end running. Apparently a few potential customers were tired of waiting totally understandable since it was incredibly busy however, she had one person building pizza boxes back in a corner who had stacks of boxes already made and was spending more time on their phone than actually doing their job and several others either working 1/4 speed or standing around compared to the gentleman running the whole front end but still busting out food and drinks, bussing tables, helping a large group make room and putting together tables so they could sit together, running the register, putting in orders, refilling drinks, getting to go orders out etc. This man was BUSY but apparently still not good enough for the owner as she screamed across the restaurant and berated this man in front of over 20+ customers. Looking back, I wish I would've said something but was too shocked. It's still no excuse and if he reads this, I'm sorry for not saying or doing something. As for the owner, that behavior is unacceptable and I'm so embarrassed for you. If this is how you treat your employees out in the open, I can only imagine what's being said, how it's said, and what's being done out of earshot of customers.
Took my grandmother here for mothers day per her request the food was delicious and the customer service was great. I can't remember the name of our pizzas but mines had sausage and pepperoni and I believe my granny's was all meats and we ordered a salad on the side.
Broadway Pizza is top tier. The pizza is consistently phenomenal. The people are always friendly. Quick tip! Order ahead because there will be a line. It’s just that great. Personal size pizza’s are more than enough for two people. Wide variety, there is always something for anyone with a taste for any combo. AND it’s fairly priced. Top tier.
I recommend for cakes and pizza, the fact that the young lady was able to make my daughter a cake from the movie Coraline on such short notice was exceptional, will be looking to them for my cake needs the value has no limit to what people can do, my daughter was so surprised and happy, thank you.Food: 5/5
The best pizza that I've tried in Memphis, especially if you're craving good sausage and a thinner, crisp crust. It's well worth any extra wait and empathy for a busy, "non-corporate-run" eatery. Thank you for your service and freshly prepared goodness, Broadway Pizza! P.S. will be bringing my momma here when she moves back-- she's originally from the windy city and I know that she'll love it too!
Called in an order for pickup under “Davis”. Spent $59 for two medium pizzas. Arrived a few minutes after the 45 minute wait time & still had to wait an additional 25 minutes! Pizza was undercooked, flooded with red sauce, & bland… no seasoning at all! Called the store to share our review. Rep screened us before acknowledging the issue. We didn’t ask for anything. We just hoped they’d be concerned about the drastic decline in the quality of service at this historic restaurant. I never thought their food was capable of tasting bad. I hope this was just a bad night, but according to several other reviews complaining about young, rude staff, & racist managers, they’ve been on a steady decline. Such a shame.
Disappointed. Ordered a sausage and onion pizza. The crust was bland and seemed to absorb all the sauce. The sausage was good but there was way too much of it. It practically covered every millimeter of the pizza. The mushrooms were canned, which was disappointing considering the price and the onions where diced into extremely small pieces.Garlic knots where warm at best. The fried green tomatoes where good.
Great food reasonable price service perfect if you haven't tried any of the food you are really missing out
So this was a lucky find for us... just a couple of minutes from our Airbnb. There was a short line... at 9pm... which soon turned in to a huge line. The wait... worth every minute. We ordered the large meat pizza, not knowing anything about this place... and I was totally blown away! I literally have never seen that much meat on a pizza before... seriously... when I picked up the to-go-box, it was heavy! And was it ever amazing! This is right up there with Sam &Ella’s Chicken Factory pizza in Tahlequah, Oklahoma... but... Broadway also has catfish... as well as tons of other selections, including some amazing looking cakes! Which I will try on my next visit. Can’t wait.
