I have been with this practice since 2019. My initial primary doctor left during the pandemic and since that time I have been with 3 other providers, all of whom have left the practice. Twice thy have made clerical errors regarding insurance that I have had to pay/ or take hours of my time to fight. The front desk staff is lovely, the office manager has never returned my call. I'm currently on hold with insurance trying to fight a $400+ bill due to this office not filing a referral that they confirmed in writing had been placed 3 months ago.
I would not recommend this practice to anyone. My husband and I were being seen by the only good provider they had and she has since left the practice herself. They, Dr. Khawaja most particularly, discriminate against patients who require certain medications that they have been taking for 10 plus years based on personal bias. They do not treat their patients like people rather numbers that they refer to other specialists to create more revenue for the group instead of listening and following them based on issues that the patient has been diagnosed with, followed for, and medicated to keep the conditions stable. If you have any mental health issues, depression, anxiety or any other, they will not help you get the care or medications you need to help keep your condition stable, even if you've been taking the same regimen of medications for most of your life. Take the time to find a provider that will treat you like a person not dollar signs and not discriminated against because you need medications to control your health because they are personally discriminatory. I hope they will work to find a resolution to these issues for future patients.
I just want to say completely and utterly unprofessional! This office as soon as I got to the front desk I couldn't believe how people addressed. They are not well mannered and not well groomed at all. When I came from my appointment I was told that my insurance is not accepted. And I went on to express to the front desk that I call my insurance company and asked for doctors that take my insurance and these were one of the places I was given. The person at the front desk continued on to say that they had called me and I repeatedly let the gentleman know that I never received a phone call from the office. If I had received a phone call or the office did call why did they not leave a message? And a woman from the back office then stormed up front didn't greet me or even make eye contact. But they both continue to look at the computer, discuss whatever they were discussing about my insurance and informed me they do not take my insurance. I said the same thing to her and instead of being professional and a show some kind of concern or care, she was extremely belligerent. I was very disgusted by the way I was treated in. Couldn't believe it! I work in the dental office and I would never treat anyone the way I was treated today nor would my co-workers.
Dr. Zsuzsa Kovacs is literally amazing. I came in for contraceptive counseling and she was so warm and informative. Would’ve been a great PCP. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before going to SMG because this office is a whole mess. So many issues and I only went to them twice. First, the admin staff never put in my request for an IUD to be sent to the office. I emailed them through their portal and was emailed back by one of their admin staff members and was told that the request was put in that day. However, I called when I haven't heard back in a month and was told that the email doesn’t exist because the former employee who replied to me may have deleted it and the request was never put in. I was willing to let that go because one disgruntled employee seemed to be the issue but after I was incorrectly billed for the visit, I realized that this office is just disorganized. In the visit notes, Dr Kovacs literally says that she completed “general contraceptive counseling” but it was billed as an office visit which is 1 more expensive than counseling and 2 not covered by my insurance. I had to talk to 3 office admins, the billing department and the billing coding department and they all tried to tell me I was wrong. After paying the bill, I ended appealing the charge with my insurance provider and they determined that my visit WAS contraceptive counseling and I was billed INCORRECTLY. Considering most insurance companies never want to pay for services, the fact that they had the same materials that SMG had but were able to determine what I spent 2 months fighting with SMG in a couple weeks goes to show that this place is a mess. Go to Planned Parenthood because an IUD was not worth this.
I've been coming here for many years. Dr Augusts teamSam and Nicoleis so attentive, bright and sincere. As is he. Just don't like that there's no private parking.
Everytime I had an appointment with Nicole, she was always able to get to the root causes of my symptoms, is very responsive, and refers me to the correct specialists I find her more attentive than the specialists at times as well.
Fist time patient but last time for the place. The doctor is good but the medical group is disorganized. I was told the blood sample takes 24-48 hours to get the results. It ended up take more than a week, and they lost 1 tube of my blood sample without any notice or apologize. When I called the office to ask the test result, I was told that my sample is lost/compromised. The portal didn't not work so results can be seen, I have to call to ask them to mail it to me. Their portal doesn't work either, I called the number on they provided, they asked me to call a different number, then I call that number, they asked me to call the first number so you will never get anyone or an answer. They did send a survey for this visit and I left my contact info, but there is nothing happen and no one seems to care. I have been using my primary doctor for many years and this has never happened in the other hospital. I only came here to see special doctor and I don't feel comfortable to come back and not recommend this place to anyone.
I always have the best connection with NP Jacklyn Fennell! My appointments are thorough at the front desk and continues through any testing or questions that I have. I’m always made extremely comfortable and welcome. After almost 10 years of being at Steward - I can only say keep up the great work! They are a great team!
Called to reschedule an appointment and when you call. The call center answers they always have attitudes and want to get smart on the phone. Just really disrespectful
I had an appointment at 11:45 and came to my appointment at 11:37. I have been waiting more than 30 minutes in the waiting room. They do not respect people’s time. If they complain if you come late to your appointment, show them this comment. So they may wanna re consider how their appointment system suppose to work.
