The food was absolutely delicious! The crème brûlée French toast was amazing! Shrimp and grits were delicious as well as the rum punch!
Prior to visiting Philly, I researched black owned restaurants and I found Brotherly Grub on google. Let me just say, the food and the service was everything. I ordered the French toast, home fries, and bacon and I have to say it was one of THE best french toast plates I’ve ever had no exaggeration it was made to perfection and I am a picky eater. In addition the owner came over to our table to check in on us and was very personable which made the experience so much more pleasant. I noticed they have live music stage so Im sure on a busy day or night the vibe is even better. Definitely would recommend Brotherly Grub’s cafe or their food truck.
Although there were only 2 other patrons at tables when we initially arrived, the wait time for the food was ridiculous. I am not sure I will dine-in again but take-out is a possibility. The food was delicious and the outdoor seating area was nice. However, the wait for the food, the service, the check, and take out orders left us miffed as we walked out 3 hours later.
A bit slow today because of staffing issues but who ain't? Otherwise my shrimp n Nola grits were on point as always. F.Y.I they were only accepting online orders but they all didn't go through so screen shot your confirmation!
Here again is my first visit here and i have to say I was not disappointed. This black owned establishment is a must try if you are ever in the germantown area. I tried a little of everything that included eggs, grits, bacon and toast. The grits, not everyone can cook with flavor but this is the exception a must try. My husband had the chicken and waffles and turkey sausage and let me say the batter for the waffles was excellent and the chicken seasoned well and delicious. This establishment is up and coming and I look forward to the other additions coming next.stay tuned.
I recently ordered takeout from this local restaurant and overall I would give them another try. I called in my order on a Sunday afternoon. It didn’t take long for the food about 20 minutes but they forgot half the order. My partner ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon and I ordered the Nola Shrimp and Grits and when he got back in the car, I told him my food was not in the bag. He went back to the cafe and with a fairly quick turnaround provided my order. No the food looked and smelled delicious but the grits were not to my liking on their own so I added some black pepper and garlic powder. It made it even better. What I wish restaurants would do is remove the tails from the shrimp especially in dishes with a sauce or gravy. It takes a little work to remove the shell in order to enjoy and nothing against Brotherly Grub Cafe.
I visited this Cafe yesterday for take out breakfast. I had the fish and grits with eggs and home fries... Delicious!!!!!!! I enjoyed every morsel!!! Sorry I didn't take a photo, but trust me, this place is turning out great food, drinks and an inviting atmosphere!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go back!!!!! Meet me there
Ordered french toast with eggs and turkey sausage patties. I can’t begin to describe how amazing my food tasted!!!! Fresh, savory, and prepared with care. It’s amazing this cafe is available to share delicious food with great prices and portions for the community and to top it off its Black Owned!!! Definitely excited to return to try more of thee scrumptious menu items. Well Done!
The food has been delicious and I wanted to give this restaurant a 5-star review, but after getting the same item for a third try, the effort wasn't put into the amount that I purchased for this item. One photo represents the first time I ordered the loaded fries with chicken. I ordered it again and didn't receive nearly as much. And it definitely wasn't worth $8. If you were running low on the product, I wish you would've called to say that and offered something else. I would like to mention that the woman that answers the phone is very polite. Thank you for your kindness.
The meals were extremely great! The French toast with crème brûlée was fantastic! The rum drink and shrimp and grits were both excellent!
