I had to give it a star? Horrible service. Rude all around .... Wanted to try on a pair of shoes....the owner threw the boxes down on the floor ...I wouldn't buy a shoehorn from them ! Glad they're retiring and to see them go. I think the owners hate their job.
Second time I’ve been here and found out they keep a record of your shoe size and any issues you have with shoe fitting. Which I think is fantastic. I have always had issues buying shoes that fit and are comfortable, it’s usually an hour long frustrating event. I have to say that Miss Maria really knows what she’s doing. I told her my name, and what I was looking for, she went in the back and came out with 3 choices for me. I was in and out in 15 minutes. It is an hour drive for me to get here but I will gladly drive it for service and quality shoes. Brian Skipworth
Needed shoes that would work with a brace that I recently began wearing. The owner measured my feet and offered a couple of options. Tried on a pair, walked in store. My natural gait was restored, comfortable, curtious service. After I have lived with them for awhile, I expect to be back for other colors and styles.
Staff was nice but buying experience was not. I purchased a pair of Clark's Unstructured shoes, they had to order my size. When I picked them up I went home to try them on to find a shoelace eyelet broken. I went back to the store and they assured me they would be fixed like new or another pair would be ordered. I received a call that they were ready, picked them up and the new eyelet doesn't match the rest of the shoe so I paid for new shoes and received irregular shoes. Won't waste money there again.
They are so knowledgeable and willing to make sure you get the right solution for your feet. Anyone with feet issues should go there. They got me into a pair of shoes that feel great and fit perfectly. I also found their prices to be competitive with what I could get online. So nice to have a local business to help those of us with feet issues. Thanks!!!!
I've shopped for shoes here twice. They are, as others have said, knowledgeable and nice... However, that ends after the sale. I had recently purchased 2 pairs of shoes from them, at their suggestion, so that I could alternate wearing them and potentially save me a trip back in the near future. 6 months after the purchase, one pair of shoes started to come apart at the seams literally so, I switched to the second pair. They fixed the first pair without problem and I continued to wear the second pair. 6 months after wearing the second pair.. same thing started to happen... switched back to the first pair and went to see them again. This time, they were rude, unhelpful and suggested that I take my business elsewhere. Which is exactly what I'm doing. I'd rather order directly from the manufacturer anyway and save some coin versus their over-inflated prices.
Love this Shoe Shop. My mother bought my first pair of loafer shoes for my extra wide feet in 1965! Still remember the day we walked in the door -so excited. Now making purchases for our grandson. Thanks for all the years of dedicated service.
Family owned business selling quality shoes for a long time, with reason- they know what they're doing. Buying online is what pushes out small businesses who have expertise in important services that can't be outsourced. We need businesses like this to thrive. Support local brick and mortar! Yay Brown Shoes!
Overpriced and not willing to stand behind the products they sell. Just buy your shoes online! I bought a pair of Rockports six months ago. I could have spent less and bought them online but I got the here because I didn't want to have to worry about returning them if there was a problem with the shoes. BIG MISTAKE! After only six months of less than average wear they are begining to leak at the toes. I took them back and he told me they seemed fine and couldn't really do anything because they weren't wet. I really didn't think I needed to run to the store at 6am a week ago when they leaked to have any credibility. He then tried to tell me that it might have been because my feet were sweating. After I told him that was not the case he felt the need to explain to me that these shoes were only waterproof if the water isn't deeper than the top lip of the shoe. Really?? That would have been a relevant comment had I said my entire foot was wet and I tried to walk through a lake! He said that Rockport wouldn't give "them" anything for these shoes. So apparently, they only back there product if the break even. They've already got their money from the customer, do why bother? I rated the a 2 because the gave me a can of waterproofing spray and told me that this would fix everything. I won't use this until I see if this will void any Rockport guarantee because I will have to probably go through them, which will probably cost me another $20 for shipping. Gee when all is said and done I will have paid $150 for $100 pair of shoes and wasted my time driving to the store, TWICE. Save yourself $ and time and just buy your shoes online.
I took my 100 year old father to the Brown Shoes store. He could barely walk because of pain in his feet. After trying on a high quality pair of shoes with an insert, he walked around the store smiling. It gave him a new lease on life. I have foot problems, too, and buy all my shoes here.
