This was an extremely stressful experience. First of all, the location I rented at Baltimore Radisson was essentially a storage room with hand drawn signs that said “Budget this way.” This wasn’t even the worst part. The car I was given was an ALL ELECTRIC car. I was about to go on a four hour road trip and wouldn’t have time to stop and charge it so I asked for another car to which I was told that was the only one available. The guy was short with me and not helpful at all. His only solution was to void the entire rental which obviously wouldn’t work for me. I wound up taking the electric car and had to spend most of my trip searching for charging stations and waiting for hours in order for the car to get a charge. I understand electric vehicles are good for the environment but they should not be given out as rentals with no alternatives. Will not be renting with Budget again.
They asked me how long did I want to rent the van for? Because they didn't have any cars there. I told him one day. Then he explained my credit score could determine if I was approved for a rental? Needless to say I wasn't approved. It's a racist scam to not rent vehicles to minorities rather it's to prioritize white and foreigner rentals exclusively. I don't recommend ever using this service. How can they honestly check your credit score to determine if you're responsible for a rental? Shouldn't your car rental history determine that?! Ijs.
I have rented twice because it is convenient and a good price. The first was extremely slow service with a long line that barely moved. Then second time I rented my car was not available dedspite paying in advance. They have a "policy" that you have to provide proof of your personal car insurance or buy their insurance. This is NOT Budget's policy nationally. I pushed back and suddenly it was no longer policy.
Sketchy! The hotel it's located in is under renovation, so there's no air conditioning In July. I reserved and paid for my car a month in advance, and it wasn't even at their location. I had to wait half an hour for them to go pick it up. Will definitely only rent from the airport location from now on. They are awesome. The Radisson location is terrible.
Budget had no car available for us when we reached the rental place in the middle of the night. Avis staff were handling the store, and they were extremely rude. They were telling that it may take 4 to 6 hours to get into a car , We had to take uber to our hotel and call budget the next day to get a new car rental. Not what we expected
I’m a regular renter. I’ve never had a rental company do a credit check to rent a car. I just carried my little self right back to Enterprise. Call in advance before coming. You definitely need to ask questions at this location.
The people at this location where so extremely kind, generous, helpful, professional, with such outstanding customer service. Eden, her father, and a younger individual I believe named David went above and beyond with their service. I travel it for work and rent cars from whichever company offers the best deals - the people at this location at the Radisson make me want to stay loyal to them and to Budget as a company! Please note it’s a small location with people working hard to get you what you need. I had help within 5 minutes every time. Also please note their hours of operation. I’m used to airport hours, so Eden thank you for making me aware of them and for all your care and support!! To the young person who checked me in, thank you for your kindness and care and ensuring I had a comfortable car for work!! As a headquarters, please give them the acknowledgement they deserve in representing this company!!!
I made a reservation online with a bank card corresponding to an account with plenty of funds. I was on time for my reservation and was also surprised by the disrepair of the kiosk and surroundings. There was no sign outside of the building. The attendant asked me to write down my social security number twice, which was also a surprise. My card was declined three times and the clerk volunteered to use an attitude with me despite my cheery and sincere disposition. After being reassured of my standings with my bank, I embarked on the difficult process to reach the attendant by phone; who instantly hung up on me without hearing my question. I'm temporarily stranded and do not understand why or how to remedy the issue. The problem is with Budget and not with my card. I do not feel safe or welcome in this area. Protect yourself by avoiding the company entirely.
Thee worst place to rent a car. Website and the location have to different set off rules. Website doesn’t state anything about having them run your credit to rent a car. If you’re going to run my credit for a rental I might as well go to a dealership and buy one. Even called customer service to verify everything I needed before I went to pick up the rental and they never mentioned the credit check or that you have to have a score of 700 if renting with a debit card. Just deal with enterprise simple process. If your using a debit card all they need is a $300 refundable deposit and two pieces of mailbge or Comcast to verify the address on the ID and you’re off in minutes. I will never recommend budget even if its to my own worse enemy.
Three hours are, I was waiting on a car rental. This is insane. I will never use Budget/Avis again
