Byas & Leon is a House specializing in the curation of Haitian craftsmanship, with an emphasis on contemporary apparel.
Haiti has historically been an economically unstable country, made exponentially worse by the devastating 2010 earthquake. Because of this, foreign companies routinely exploit the native populace as a source of cheap labor...taking advantage of the fact that Haiti is severely lacking in infrastructure and businesses...and as such, jobs.
So it was founders R.Byas & H.Leon's desire to enact a change in that supposed status quo. Our aim is to bring the full beauty & magnitude of the Haitian aesthetic to the mainstream, while simultaneously paying the craftsmen/tailors/artists we employ a living wage that they can truly build a future with.
