Cabela's

This Cabela's is amazing it has a lot of variation and the store itself is huge with a very nice display in the middle of the store with some animals. I give this store 3 stars because I took my younger cousin to buy a BB gun and we thought we had gotten a great deal. We got a rifle BB gun with a scope for $120. After we bought it we went right next door to the Wal-Mart and we saw the EXACT same BB gun rifle with scope for $40!!! We ended up buying one and we compared both boxes and they were exactly the same so we ended up returning the Cabela's one. Like I said the store has great variation but it's pretty pricey.

Can always find what I need here. Awesome gun selection. They carry a great variety of sausage casings for those who make their own sausage. They also sell flavor packages for different sausage flavors (Polish, etc). Read packages carefully because some are collagen and not too flavorful.

If you're an outdoors person this is the place for you. They carry everything and have great prices. The store and bathrooms are always extremely clean. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I'm here quite a bit and always leave very satisfied. If you visit be sure to check out the bargain cave in the back of the store because there's always good deals to be had there. The Cabela's brand is always a very nice brand. High quality and have a good warranty. Highly recommend this place! Also be sure to check out their website to see the upcoming events, there's usually something cool going on!

We stopped here for a break while traveling from the Quad Cities to Detroit. The store was well stocked, and the employees were helpful. The rest rooms were clean, which is always a big plus! Our young kids enjoyed seeing the fish in the aquarium and all the animal mounts.

I tried to order some magazines from Cabela's over the summer last year and couldn't, because they were confused about which areas of Illinois have no capacity restrictions. The gentleman that I spoke to said that they don't have the resources to keep up with the laws, and my response to him was, your competitors do. Fast forward to this year, a new job, and what do you know, I'm 15 minutes away from their Hammond store. The employees there are helpful, a lot more knowledgeable than the people who answer calls for their website, and very courteous. The store is clean, there's plenty of parking, and like most big outdoor stores, there's plenty of things to spend your money on. I enjoy short shopping trips there when I have the time. The only downside is what I call the Walmart complex; plenty of registers, but no more than 3-4 cashiers on busy weekends. On weekdays there aren't more than 2 cashiers that I've seen. I would still recommend going there, just don't go when you're in a rush.
