The food tasted phenomenal. I'd definitely go back. I ordered the Burrata Salad, Creme Brulee and Onion Soup. The Creme Brulee is the best that I've had in years. 20/10. The onion soup was just ok. 7/10. I did enjoy the burrata salad. It's a great appetizer. 8.5/10 One of my friends ordered the crab cake and octopus. She begged us to try the octopus. After many no's, we finally did and it was Devine. I honestly don't know why folks order calamari if Octopus tastes so amazing. Good flavor, good texture, 10/10! My friend ordered the Ceasar Salad and there was a bug in it. Salad is served as a half head of lettuce they did try to rectify the situation immediately, my friend didn't want them to at that point. The crab sandwich was good, but it was lightly dressed. We assumed it would be more than a lot of crab with a light dressing and avocado it was tasty though. 7.5/10
Café du Parc offers a dining experience that, on the whole, is quite pleasant, marked by good food, acceptable service, and a nice ambiance. The food at Café du Parc is the highlight of the experience. Each dish comes out well-prepared, showcasing a blend of flavors that are both comforting and intriguing. The menu, though not extensive, offers enough variety to cater to different tastes and preferences, ensuring that most visitors will find something to enjoy. The ingredients taste fresh, and the presentation of the dishes is thoughtful, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. Service at Café du Parc is adequate, though it lacks the polish and attentiveness that could elevate the dining experience from good to exceptional. The staff is generally friendly and does a decent job of ensuring that diners' needs are met, but there are moments when the service feels somewhat perfunctory. It's not that the service detracts significantly from the overall experience, but rather that it misses opportunities to enhance it. The ambiance of Café du Parc is undeniably one of its strong suits. The setting is designed to be inviting, with a decor that balances charm and sophistication. Café du Parc is a solid choice for those looking for good food in a pleasant setting. While the service could use a bit of fine-tuning to match the quality of the cuisine and the ambiance, the overall dining experience is certainly enjoyable. It's a venue that promises a nice meal out, and for the most part, it delivers on that promise.
Charm and history abound in this fast paced, visually pleasing, indoor/outdoor dining, with slow moving wait staff, where delicious and disappointing occur simultaneously. Much took too long: attention, bread, check. Others refined and enjoyable. Others overcooked. Worth taking a chance, but was not at the top of their game during our visit. Kid-friendliness: Tolerated
Would highly recommend going elsewhere. With the exception of the French onion soup, we didn’t like anything with our meal. We got the bread basket and there were 4 pieces of dry bread - 2 of which were the same type. The fries were so crispy they wouldn’t even bend without breaking. The steak was overdone and chewy. The chicken was plain and lacking flavor. Wouldn’t recommend. Didn’t enjoy the service as we had to keep flagging our server down. For over $100, there are many other better options.
The food was delicious, the service was great we had reservations but I don’t think there would have been a wait it was a weekday!! Enjoy it’s a great breakfast spot!!Food: 5/5
I think if I come back here, I would definitely just go for the dessert! Crème Brûlée was very delicious, but the burger nothing special. Although I asked for a well done burger, I didn’t expect the bread to be cooked well done too! Half of it was almost burnt. Lastly why they charge 10$ for just water! That was really extra!
Cafe du Parc Tea Service 3++ Star Ambiance 5star in French inspired cafe and cozy niche space to gather casually Service - presentation was classy with matching white chip and saucer. Not a complaint but nothing to be excited about. It’s counter service so non one brings it to you. There’s no teapots either. If you notice the cute glass container of honey, only because I asked afterwards and there was no offer of lemon. Tea - nice selection of caffeinated teas including my favorite jasmine pearls and Earl Grey. However today I went with their mint tea had enough caffeine for the day which was actually quite enjoyable on a cold windy spring day at the park. Perfect early evening lift to keep sight seeing. 1month later - It was the Crème Brûlée I remembered. - It is the best! I went to a couple of others restaurants in DC just for this dessert and still looking in atlanta. No one has beat it and the rubric every other restaurant gets compared too. Even if the crème is perfect consistency like Cafe du Parc, it’s usually a little too burnt. And few if any give you the portion of fresh berries. It was also a huge portion. So… it’s memorable and don’t take for granted when you get it.
If you have the chance, go on a day where they're serving the gazpacho. This meal, along with the crème brûlée was the perfect way to treat myself on a solo trip to DC.Food: 5/5
This place seems suitable for a quality breakfast. The French toast is very soft, and the raisins as a topping are very harmonious. The fruit served on the side is fresh. If you love french toast, get it a try!Food: 5/5
Honestly, it was well below the expectations for such a high-standard hotel that The Willard used to be. The hosting lady was arrogant without a hint of friendliness, immediately jumping to conclusions that we should walk down a floor for snacks. When we said we wanted to have a dinner she offered a table in a dark area when they were nearly empty. She clearly had no idea of simple manners or respect, especially when speaking to someone in their 70s. This was an unacceptable reception of guests, particularly on Christmas days! Wow! Everyone else from the staff was friendly and nice, as if they were making up for her… I wish we had walked away immediately, as we ended up returning one main course of lamb ragu pasta because my husband couldn’t eat it. The waiter apologized, and we were not charged for it, but the Caesar salad was also really bad. The lettuce was on the plate as one huge piece, not cut or mixed, and the dressing was just a cheap supermarket one, which shouldn’t be used in restaurants. I didn’t return it as I didn’t want to make it worse for them. On a positive note, the cheese plate and the pumpkin soup were good! However , we won’t be back there for that quality overall.
