My brother and I were walking by Bourbon street and stumbled across this place. There was live jazz music - the musicians were great and charismatic - and the food is reasonably priced a Po-boy sandwich is ~$11 when right down the street it’s around $19. It has a homey vibe.
Quaint little setting in a small garden with jazzy musical statuary. A great place for a fantastic breakfast. Just a few steps across the street from the Royal Sonesta. I recommend..... everything. All of the food is excellent. Kid-friendliness: The French toast was absolutely covered in cinnamon and sugar! I'm not sure what kid doesn't want to dig in. Wheelchair accessibility: It's a very large and open courtyard.
Great Beignets!!! They are big and yummy. You can get chocolates with it to make it taste even better. Jazz band playing are awesome! Thank you for the good music.
This was our first stop when we arrived in NOLA and it was a great experience! The food is good, definitely grab some beignets! You can sit and eat and listen to music. Definitely a must- visit!
Great place for breakfast or whenever! First time eating beignets, and they were so good! I got lemonade and it was not what I was expecting, actually better! Im from Missouri, & I Tasted lots of lemonade, but the lemonade down here was the best by far! The jazz band here was also great to listen to! Definitely gotta stop in!
Nice little cafe that is outdoors. It has a garden area with statues of jazz greats. Live club ants play frequently to add to the ambience. Beignets are delicious.
Food was meh. We ordered 2 omlettes, one was crayfish, the other a veggie. They were delicious. Both came with buttered bread and buttery gritts. My husband ordered a turkey sandwich. He said the meat was salty. Honestly the sandwich looked a little sad, and you can make it better at home. Finally, we wanted to try their version of beignets, so we ordered the regular and chocolate drizzle. We were impressed on the size of those things. We were expecting a pillowy texture, but it was dense. The chocolate ones we got were raw. I was able to spoon out the center to double-check and see if I was crazy. I'm pretty sure the dough is not supposed to be gummy. We'll stick with cafe du monde next time. Vegetarian options: Veggie omlette
Cajun hashbrowns were pretty good. The taste of the sausage was great. The beignets were were soft inside and crispy outside. Very good. Much better than the other POPULAR cafe. And very nice live Jazz music.
Went here for breakfast. I was early around 9 and there was no lines and plenty of tables. Service was quick. You pay at the counter and they give you your drink there. Napkins, straws etc are by the counter not on the tables. Grab plenty of napkins if you get the beignets. The beignets are bigger than the other place and as good. Little more doughy. Still hot and crispy. They serve more then just beignets and I got a side of bacon. The seating isn't the best, the chairs are the small Cafe ones and not very comfortable. They have heaters on when it's cold as all of the seating is outdoor.
The beignets are delicious! The chocolate drizzled did not disappoint. We had their jambalaya and it was flavor and it wasn’t spicy it was delicious. The ambiance is family friendly and I loved the outdoor patio. These are the best beignets.
